Message:Anyone, I don't know much about Finale or Sibelius, all I'm looking to do is plug an electric acoustic guitar into a computer and have the notes come up on screen as I play. I am also interested in playing back the music afterwards, if the cost is not significantly greater. I have read other emails in the forum, and realize that Sibelius may be easier to use, but I am confused as to which will be more worth the money in the long run??? I am a starving law student and need to get the cost down as low as possible. Also, I have access to a laptop and a desktop but would prefer to use the software on the laptop, if possible. I am obviously not a computer genius, so I'm not sure what I need to purchase in order to plug the guitar in, play, have the notes appear, print out, and of course, edit. Is it possible to do all this on a laptop, assuming the memory, monitor, etc. are sufficient? Can I get the necessary sound card installed on a laptop? Either way, which sound card is most recommended for use with Finale? I realize this is a lot to ask, and very general, however, I am an avid singer/songwriter strapped for cash and trying to get some songs printed. For the most part, utterly lost! I don't have the time to write the notes out, so any help would be greatly appreciated.John
