Message:I first bought Finale 97, and have upgraded regularly since. I am a composer, so it is a tool I work with daily; and the upgrades have represented marked improvements in the program with each step. The leap from Finale 98 to Finale 2000 was enormous, in terms of improvements made to the program. January of this year, I had to produce the score and parts for an 11-minute, 400+-measure orchestral piece in the space of two weeks. Finale 2000 made this possible, in ways that would have been dicey with Finale 98 :-)Now, the leap from 98 to 2000 was so striking, that it is something of a tough act to follow; I won't expect the upgrade to 2001 to match it in breadth and drama. But I agree with the thought that the upgrades are a sound (begging pardon for the pun) investment, for the music professional.
