Won't playback multiple instruments

Message:I'm having a bit of a problem trying to play my score using multiple instruments. I have no problem changing the instruments for each staff, but for some reason Finale continues to play back all of the staves using the most recent instrument that I have identified for only one staff (not always the same staff, I tried that).I have received Finale files from friends, where different instruments play for each staff, so I know my computer has the capability, I just can't get mine to work. Any advice? TIA! fyi - I'm on a Compaq Presario 7000 series (high power system)
