Sheila,

1. Copying from one staff to another is easy:
Mass Mover Tool.
Select the music you want to copy.
Mass Mover menu: Turn on "Copy and Replace" and "Copy Everything" (assuming that this is what you want).
Now all you have to do is holding down two modifier keys while clicking on the staff where you want the music copied to. The two modifier keys are:
Mac: Shift+Option
Windows: Shift+Ctrl

2. Moving measures between systems:
For an overall distribution, select all the music and try "Fit Music..." in the Mass Mover menu. In the dialog box you can specify that you want, e. g. 4 measures per system.
For finetuning, select the measure you want to move. To move the last measure of a system down into the following system, hit DownArrow. To move the first measure of a system up into the previous system, hit UpArrow. You can also move two or more measures at once.

3. Evenly aligning lyrics and notes.
Your question is a bit vague. Could you be more specific.

4. Opening the pdf manual and updating.
Find your Finale CD and re-install Finale. This will probably fix both problems.

5. Playback from a specific measure.
Close the Playback Controls, if it is open.
While pressing the Space bar, click the measure.
To stop playback again, click the score.
The pdf manual contains a lot of information on playback option. Check it out, when you hav re-installed Finale.

Peter
