This may not be a Finale problem. It could also be an AppleWorks problem. Or it could be a printer driver problem.

With Finale's Graphics Tool you could try exporting as TIFF or PICT instead of EPS. AppleWorks can import both TIFF and PICT. Just remember to set a resolution suitable for acceptable print quality. 72 dpi is OK on the screen, but it looks jagged in print. I would recommend at least 300 dpi for printing.
