As far as I know, Jim is right. Let me add that Finale NotePad is a baby-version of Finale 2001. Therefore, when you save the document as a .MUS document from within NotePad, you save it in the Finale 2001 format, which Finale 2000 can't open. Instead of using NotePad, try opening the ENIGMA document with Finale 2000. And if that works, save it as a .MUS document from within Finale 2000. In this way you will get a .MUS document in Finale 2000 format. And NotePad can open Finale 2000 documents.
