Just an idea:
In case a document ends at the upper 1/3 of its last page, how about letting the next document begin 1/3 down, and let that piece of paper go through the printer twice? You can force the first system down at 1/3 from top with the Edit System Margins dialog box in the Page Layout Tool. It may take some calculations to find the right amount of “push-down”, but you can use the number again, whenever a document ends 1/3 down on its last page.
