I think you are asking about how to put finger numbers above the notes.Finger numbers can be added with the Articulation Tool. You can set up a finger number articulation
- to be positioned above the note
- to be centered horizontally
- to be placed outside the staff
For chords you need several numbers above each other.
You can enter the numbers one by one, and nudge them up with the UpArrow key.
Or you can use the Shape Designer to create a shape with the number combination, and use that shape in the Articulation Tool.
