The command "Print Parts..." is the "quick and dirty" way of printing parts, since the parts will have the same layout as the score.

In Other Words: This is not a bug. Finale is doing what it is supposed to do.


Instead of "Print Parts", you should try "Special Part Extraction" or "Extract Parts..."

Special Part Extraction allows you to change the layout of the document so that you only see the part when you are in Page View, whereas you still can see the full score in Scroll View. This means that you can change a note, and see the change both in the part and in the score. Note that changes in the layout for the part will also affect the score.

Extract Parts allows you to create separate documents for each part. This allows you to save different layouts for for both the part and the score. The drawback is that changing a note must be done in both documents: both in the part and in the score.
