Okay, I'm getting some good answers here, but I'm not quite where I want to be. I've got a performance recorded by Band In A Box that uses a funk shuffle feel, supposedly. Apparently Band In A Box doesn't do this quite correctly and just uses triplet-feel 8th notes, with the tempo doubled. That *sounds* fine, but doesn't notate correctly. Someone here has told me about reducing the note by 50%, which puts me back to a 16th note shuffle, which is what I want.

Now I'm trying to get this to look better notation-wise. I'm thinking that I need to import the MIDI file, but set Finale to ignore the swing feel and notate it as straight 8th notes. Then, reduce the note values by 50% and I should have the 16th note tune set. At this point, I tell the player to swing the 16th notes, and it should work correctly on the bandstand.

My question is: how do I get Finale to notate a swing/shuffle MIDI file as straight 8ths?
