Message:I use Finale 2000 and Quark 4.04 on Mac OS 8.6 to make music books. I extract a selection or page in Finale and save as an eps file, which I then place into Quark. I have had no problems in the past, but recently started getting PostScript error messages when printing the Quark documents. It appears that certain Finale files, which print fine from Finale, have become corrupted somehow when exported as an eps file. It appears to be file specific. Some Finale eps files result in a PostScript error message when printed from Quark, and others do not. I have a 1200 dpi HP printer that works great. I have tried printing these Quark documents from different Macs, and get the same result. Has anyone had experience with Finale files becoming "corrupted" such that they will cause PostScript error messages when exported as eps files and placed into dtp documents? I have tried substituting older Finale eps files that have worked in the past and they still print fine (from Quark). Certain other of these Finale eps files cause the error. When I save the entire Quark file as an eps and distill it in Acrobat, it prints fine! Also, when I save those Finale eps files as Illustrator files, they print fine from Quark! It seems therefore to be a Finale problem, not a Quark one. Also, it seems that there isn't a true PostScript problem, because Acrobat and Illustrator have no problems reading those Finale eps files. Anyone have a clue what's going on here? This is becoming a really annoying problem!
