Message:It's been interesting to read all the messages in this forum. I have worked with Finale for the last 3 years and am constantly amazed by the poor usability and performance of this program. As I'm also a computer programmer, it's obvious to me that Finale is a HACK, similar in construction to DOS/Windows, i.e. new features were added to the program without any real change to the way the software conecptualizes the music data and the user interaction. That's why the drawing speed is pathetic, and also why you experience accute repetitive strain syndrome after 30 minutes of working with it, among all the other shortcomings (the page-layout thing is ridiculous, for a 90's software). As I rely on the computers at my conservatory for printing music, and don't really have any other choice but Finale, I must wait for the obviously very hard-working engineers over at Coda to whiff the breeze of times and modernize this evidently aging program, instead of just adding features. For those of you who can afford an alternative, there is one, in the shape of Sibelius and Igor, both of which look very promising.Good luck all
