FINALE is BUG RIDDEN. No respectable programmer would include an "update layout" function in his program. Not only do you do, but it's buggy! (sometimes fails to remove graphical bugs)
Just take a look at the main system: you select a tool, and from that you get a horde of menus.
Things like making the head of a note bigger is ridiculously simple. Yet such far more useful things like "opptakt" (don't know the term in eng, starting on something else than the 1), require a senior thesis. (I found out eventually. My teacher, who has the manual and has had the program for years, hasn't still.

You write it in basic or something? The graphics libraries you use must stink terribly since you have to have that "Update layout" function. It seems like the mainframe of a poor word-processor has been changed bit-by-bit to a music notation program.
