Re: THE BIG ONE: the future of music notation software
Message:First post to this forum. Educator, music business owner, multiple degrees in Theory (BM/MM) and Music Ed. Over 30 years pro experience. Use Musicator (because it will run on old 486 machines in school and still do great work), Finale, Sibelius. Recently, Sibelius sales guy did demo (2 hours) for staff here. Sibelius will open Finale files. Not vice versa. But - Finale will GIVE AWAY notepad - nothing free from Sibelius to get new users "hooked". It's all about marketing and competition. I keep a running log on pros and cons of the 2 programs - but Finale is what I run for my own stuff. Lots of chamber music arrangement, educational stuff (HS) - I just want to convert lots of Musicator stuff, now!
