Re: 2 or More Grace Notes with Slash

You will have to add the slash with the Expression Tool.

I would create the slash as a shape expression, and adjust the line thickness and slope until the slash works well in the context.

Re: Adding a Lead Sheet to Piano Music

An idea:

1) Create a piano score in Print Music from the MIDI file.
Add a vocal staff above the piano’s Grand Staff.

2) Open the lead sheet, Select All, and Copy.

3) Go back to the piano score, select the added vocal staff, and Paste.

Before doing this step it might be a good idea to fill all empty measures with a dotted half rest.

Otherwise the different parts may not get the correct amount of rest measures/rests

Re: Opening files on Mac and Windows

The file format is the same in Windows Finale and Mac Finale. However, the fonts used in the Finale document must be installed on both computers. This is also true for all other documents, such as e. g. word processing documents. But you probably knew that already. Beware that newer Finale features ...

I am not sure I understand.

Do you mean A (across two measures) ?

Or do you mean B (across one measure, double speed) ?

Or ?

Re: Space between rehearsal marks and measure numbers

As you may have noticed, you can have separate measure number settings for Score and Parts. I, too, put the measure numbers at the bottom - but only in the parts. Usually I position the measure numbers below the key signature - in the parts you seldom need to position other stuff below the key signa...

What items are selected in the dialog box Score Lists?

If I'm getting this right, score and part of "Top Staff" are checked.
As a test, try - in the Parts column - selecting all the staves.

Could not hurt to try it (on a backup copy).

Re: Automatic beaming in 12/16?

It is done with the Time Signature Tool.

Set the Number of Beats to 4, and the Beat Duration to a dotted Eighth.

In this time signature, all new music will automatically beam Sixteenths in groups of 3.

For a 7/4 time signature you would probably need one of these three 8th note beaming patterns: 6+4+4 (= 7/4 grouped as 3+2+2) 4+6+4 (= 7/4 grouped as 2+3+2) 4+4+6 (= 7/4 grouped as 2+2+3) Finale can do that. Here is the solution for the first one: CompositeTimeSignature.jpg TimeSignature.jpg
