How can I put numbers over several repeated measures to help a player keep track of them (such as in drum set parts)? Windows, Finale 27.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I wrote a FinaleScript to quickly go to the SImple Entry Tool. In fact, I had forgotten that I had written the one to go to Speedy Entry also.

I use shortcuts a lot while I'm writing. I have made FinaleScripts to some of the tools and use them often. I know about the shortcut to the Speedy Entry tool (Alt - /), but is there a shortcut to the Simple Entry tool?

For some reason, when I exit Finale, it automatically reloads itself once more, but only on 1 computer. I'm now using v.27, but it did the same on v. 26. Windows, ASUS computer, AMD, A10. 8GB. Any ideas?

Is there any advantage to purchasing and using a so-called "gaming computer"?

Well, it was a simple fix. (I feel embarrassed. ) Not having used this particular computer for a while, the filter had been set to copy only Smart Shapes. (Duh!) Thanks michelp for the reminder to check the filter. And thanks all others for the kind answers.

I know it should, but often it selects the whole score, one measure. Could it be that I move my mouse ever so slightly?

I'm using Finale Ver. 25 on Windows. I'm a long time Finale user (since 1997). I find it frustrating that often when I try to select a measure in just one part (in order to copy and paste) that Finale grabs the whole score, that measure. How can I avoid this?

I checked the complete list of expressions but the new ones do not show up after I add them. OK. So I read the old posts about orange stems. They looked yellow to me. Anyway, they still don't answer the problem. The file I'm working on is not an old file being updated. It is a brand new file in v. 25. The music is a harp part - no transposition. Finale needs to fix this bug!

I have Finale version 25 for Windows 10. As I am inputting music, from time to time I have been getting many notes with yellow stems, although they print out as black. I never did with version 2014. Any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks, Peter. I'm not sure why there would be a difference between the Staff name and the part name, but that takes care of the problem.

I'm using Finale 2014.5 in Windows and I'm writing a piece for full orchestra. Although I chose "Trumpets in Bb" and that name shows up properly in the score, the linked part show up as "Trumpet in C" in the part name area and will print as such.
