How do you do tremolando?
Is there a way to generate a "tremolando" effect? (That is, a violin bow vibrating rapidly back and forth on the string?) And a related question: is there a way to eliminate the "robotic" violin sound that occurs when you plot a series of identical 16th notes in succession? It sounds like a jackhamm...

How can you listen to just one instrument?
I'm sure this is a total newbie question, and someone's going to say, "Jeez, even I know how to do that!" but I'm willing to be embarrassed to learn....
If you're composing a string quartet, is there a way you can play just the viola part, and keep the other instruments muted?

Is there a way to drop or raise a measure one octave?
Is there some function or command that allows you to take a whole measure of music and drop it down an octave in pitch?
(Rather than individually selecting each note and dragging it down seven steps...)

Notes no longer playing when I place them - please help
You know how when you place a new note on the staff, Finale automatically plays that note, so you can hear it and make sure it's correct? Well, for some reason it's not playing the note when I plot it, and I'm not sure why. Can someone kindly tell me: 1) Why this might be happening? 2) How to turn t...

How do you save/export a file as an MP3?
Does PrintMusic allow you to save/export a composition as an MP3? I tried the various options in the File menu, but somehow it just froze on me: got maybe 40% of the way through the exporting process, then wouldn't finish. Meanwhile, exporting as a MIDI file produces a very canned and unrealistic pi...

I apologize, I think my Subject header must have misled you--but it didn't have enough space for my full question. Let me try again: I'm not looking to simply open up a Notepad piece in PrintMusic--I know how to do that. What I'm trying to do is import a Notepad piano piece into the "piano" space of...

Can you import a NotePad composition into PrintMusic?
I composed a piano piece in NotePad, which I would now like to import into the piano score part of a full orchestral score in PrintMusic.
Is this possible, and if so, how is it done?

Advantages/Disadvantages of Finale PrintMusic?
I'm currently using the demo version of Finale Notepad, and now I'm thinking of upgrading to PrintMusic. PrintMusic seems like it might be a cost-effective middle ground between the limited functionality of Notepad, and the bells and whistles of the higher-end products of the family. Does PrintMusic...

Changing the time signature partway through the song
Is there a way to change the time signature during the song?
I have a song that starts out in waltz tempo, and then partway through switches to 4/4. Does that functionality exist in Notepad?
