Playback needs better keyboard support, like space for start / stop.
In particular I need to be able to loop single chords or short phrases, and /or click-move the mouse to playback in my own tempo like it works in many sequencers.

Thanks, Peter, for the tip. I have recently encountered the problem described in the beginning of the thread, that playback hides the stop button and plays until the end of the piece. Hi,
I have solved the issue for me in pressing Alt-D and P for start and Alt-D and O for Stop.
This is very annoying, however, there is a keyboard shortcut after all.
