when I extract parts, multimeasure rests will not appear, even when checking the option "create multimeasure rests" in the part creation preferences.

I would guess it's in the same place in Finale. Unfortunately it is not! But I found another solution: "Remove staff system optimization". In the Finale2008 manual it says: "When you create parts, Finale groups all empty measures into multimeasure rests."

That is not true for me, when I create parts there are no multimeasure rests.
What should I do ?

In a 2/2 mesaure I want to create a triplet consisting of a whole note and a half note -- thus these two notes should fill up the measure completely. I don't succeed creating that triplet, I have first to create a longer mesure (for exemple 4/2), make the triplet there and then copy it.

I just installed my upgrade Finale2008a on my PC which has a Pulsar2 audio card from Creamware.

Thank you for your replies. So I shall buy Finale2008. It's really weird that such a simple feature wasn't included until now. BTW I only need precision of seconds not even frames.

To be more precise: a Timecode is simply a feature that most players of music have, it indicates in hours, minutes and seconds (hh:mm:ss) where you are.

I am very suprised that Finale2006 seems not to have this. Does anyone know if it comes with Finale2008?

Is there a way to view the timecode in score (useful for film scoring)?

I have a figure of four repeated 16th notes and would like to write them in the following way :
first and third note stems upwards and beamed together,
second and fourth note stems downwards and beamed together.

Is there an easier way than to use two layers and hiding rests?

BTW I can't select it in a list of ready designed shapes, if I click "select" it opens only the shape designer box. This is why I couldn't find it myself.
