...also, the letter 'o' would hide a note or rest on a particular layer in previous versions. Has that also changed?
Maybe I should read the instructions...
Thanks,
Andy

Can't overload measure
I've just moved over to 2014 and am having major problems just dealing with my first measure. I'm in 3/4 time and looking to add a quarter note and 8th note on the third beat in within a tuplet bracket. I'm getting all sorts of pings and error stabs coming out of my speakers when I try to do this. I...

Re: accidentals across layers
That could be worth looking into. Its such an obvious need - I had just assumed the software would pick it up but someone pointed out to me yesterday that one of my transcriptions had too many accidentals in a measure and I can't seem to change it for love nor money. How does one come by that plug i...

accidentals across layers
Hello, I am trying to find a setting that will allow my accidental changes (i.e. #s and bs), to carry through to all layers. In other words I want a change to Bb in the C of C to carry through to layers 2,3 and 4 in that measure if I change layer 1. I would like this set as default. Any ideas? Many ...

Where have my notes gone?
Hello, I've been working on a piece but have opened it up this evening and the content has disappeared from several measures on the first page visually - sometimes both staves sometimes just one - yet when I play back the content is still playing. I have all staves set to view and no hidden notes. C...

Re: Notes no longer spilling over into next measures
Hi Peter,
You're probably right.
How do you resize the notes in one stave of one measure? Is that staff styles as well?
Thanks,
Andy

Re: Notes no longer spilling over into next measures
I'm not too familiar with stasff styles - could you provide me with a bit of a walk through please?
Also, does this adjust the size of accidentals as well?
Many thanks,

Re: Notes no longer spilling over into next measures
That's it - thanks once again.
Whilst I'm here, how do you reduce note head size for just one measure in one stave? I have about 60 32nd notes with accidental a in a single measure that I can't get to squeeze on just one system. Thanks

Notes no longer spilling over into next measures
I have removed a virus from my system today and it appears to have changed a few settings within Finale. Most i've bbeen able to reset but there is one particular issue that is beginning to stress me out a little, which I would appreciate some help with. Before when I was manually entering notes and...

Shortcut keys for layers
Is it possible to assign shortbut keys to move betweeen layers 1, 2, 3 and 4? I can see its possible to define specified tasks but cannot see that it covers moving between layers. This facility would really help. Thanks,

Turning off the swing!
I have added a swing symbol using the expression tool, which appears to have turned all my straight quavers into a triplet feel, i.e. swinging. How do I turn this off though when I reach a section of the piece where I no longer want it to apply? There may be a musical symbol that does this, but if s...

Stave missing from first system
I'm looking to add a new stave to a piece i'm working on however when I do so it does not appear in the first system. I'm sure there's something obvious i'm missing, but if someone could offer me a tip i'd be grateful.
I can't seem to upload the file as an attachment (mus files not allowed?)
Thanks,

Two keyboard staves to one
I'm trying to change the layout in a piece from two keybaord staves, i.e LH and RH to just RH on the second page. Can someone offer me some pointers please? I thought optimization would do it, but i can't seem to make it work. Thanks, Andy

Re: Time signature disappeared
Thanks for your reply. The first system point is an interesting discovery! I've been creating my scores on Finale in a quite unorthodox way, simply by opening my last score, deleting the measures and saving as a new file. This has been going on for well over three years now and my 'master document' ...

Time signature disappeared
I'm not sure what's happened, but for some reason, having changed the time signature on one of my scores from 3/4 to 4/4, the time signature has disappeared altogether. When I change it back to anything other than 4/4 it appears fine, but otherwise I'm without any time signature. Don't know why this...
