Hmmmm, maybe another error?
Spacing SYSTEMS is not the same as spacing STAVES. AFAIK, PrintMusic does not have a respace staves option. I have 3 or 4 places in the User Manual that mislead about the "Groups" we discussed yesterday. I wonder if this is going to be another. The User Manual clearly states that it CAN be done.......

Error when you first put it in.
Thanks your asnwer. I attach a pdf,I would like to see what. I like the 1st bracket from bar 7 to bar 12. I can't drag and pull the 1st ending bracket anywhere. I'm use a Finale 2010. Roodkop When you prepare a primo for bar 7-12, you must fist SELECT [highlight] bars 7-12 and THEN go to the "Repea...

Staff spacing feature
OK, I took a 15 stave score that I saved to "play with". I went and messed up all the staff spacings really badly [on purpose]. Some too close, some too far apart. Then went to Page Layout and UN-checked "allow individual staff spacing" and checked on Space Systems evenly. I've tried several variati...

It's easy
I did it now to one of my music scores and since you've ALREADY done the 1st and 2nd endings, just select the "Repeat Tool", and you'll see the little boxes at the ends of your 1st and 16th measures on the "bracket". Just GRAB it, and drag it until it reaches the other bracket line. I do it in "Scro...

I would like to use a repeate barline with primo and secundo. The primo lenght are 16 bar. The primo line isn't draw over all(16) bars, just over the first and last bar. What is the problem? I hope you understand me. Sorry, for my poor english! Best regard, Rood In my language, I say the first endi...

Staff menu>Edit Staff Attributes>uncheck Display Measure Numbers Yes, that's very handy, and I DO use it, BUT....... Like I said in my lengthy post above, PrintMusic is adamant about "having it's own way". It WILL add meas numbers when it wants to, and WON'T remove them "when it wants not to". I ca...

Just wanting to be elegant
OK, so I use the setup Wizard to start off with a multitude of staves. OK, so then I can select the whole deal and say "Add Measure Numbers"; I know that. Then after I get my brackets all set up, notes entered, I can opt to "Hide Measure Numbers" in select places, ok so far. But "What if" I didn't "...

A new clue dawned upon me
In my above post it mentions "Group" handles. OK, you've seen many of my screeshots; WHICH handles are the "Group" Handles? Or, maybe, they are NOT THERE? Now I'm suspecting that if the Group handles were there, that right clicking THAT would produce results, but I think I've right clicked and doubl...

One more thought for now
From the User Manual: When you click the Staff tool, the Staff menu appears, and handles appear on each staff and on staff-related items in the score. Select a handle then choose a menu command, or use the shortcuts listed below. The shortcuts are arranged by what the handle controls: staff handles ...

Missing feature?
I'm beginning to believe that this feature just "happens" to be missing; perhaps a glitch in this issue. From what you experienced people tell me, it SHOULD BE somewhere in a right click or double click on the handle, OR in the Staff Menu item. Just expressing a hunch. For my personal mental health,...

Staff Menu
In the full Finale you can also access it from the Menu item "Staff" and choose "Add (or Edit) group or bracket". Does Print Music give you yhay option? I'll have some screen shots in a few minutes, but the answer to your question is no; NO MENTION of groups.Warren Barnett wrote:But it does list the instruments inside the bracket. On that screen, is there no mention of the group or group number?

Small steps
Did you use the Setup Wizard to create your document. If so, it probably created the groups at the same time. Do brackets group staves together? If so is there a handle attached tothem? If so, try to double click the handle, or right click the handle and check out the options. Warren I've read the ...

My Plan for now
I'm going to keep notes on what the following "Groups" contain: Trumpet in C Trombone Brass [Group 2] [Group 8] [Group 9] [Group 10] [Group 11] [Group 12] [Group 13] The first three are too obvious, but Group 2, and 8-13 I'll observe WHICH Instruments are in these groups, then I'll use my present sc...

Have I looked for "Groups" in the User Manual?
Perhaps Group 1 refers to a string ensemble and you don't have a string ensemble in your document. Silly question, but have you tried the user manual under groups or printing or staff or staves? Warren Yes, very definitely. That's why I made the statement above that the User's Manual is LAX on the ...

Me starting a "Group"?
I can only presume that you would fid the group properties where you created the group. And the groups are usually listed somewhere in the staff menu. Warren That's part of the mystery; I never "created" a group..... the groups just "show up" when I go to "Extract Parts". I just created 15 Staves. ...

Print Music? Yes
Peter, I think the problem is that the poster is using Print Music, not the full Finale. I don't think that Print music has the "linked parts" feature. Not sure about Print Music. Do you have the option name groups in Print Music? If not, if you look in the group properties, it should tell you which group # Finale assigned to each group. "Linked Parts" and "Manage Parts"
Rather than "Extract" it was suggested that I use "Linked Parts"; I can' t find that in the User's Manual. Elsewhere it was suggested to use "Document" menu and go to "Manage Parts"; My "Document" menu does not show "Manage Parts". Am I then to go back to my previous intention of using "Extract Part...
