Re: how to hide rests?
You can do this with Staff Styles easily. In Staff Tool/Staff/Define Staff Styles, click the "New" button at the top (otherwise you're just editing the one that's active when you enter the dialog). Name it something like "Hide Rests Layer One," and set the staff display options accordingly: click o...

Re: all instruments are not in tune??
I had a problem - after adding a trill in the piano part of an orchestral piece using Aria/Garritan (default), the brass sounded like a Salvation Army band. (It could be I made the trill longer than it needed - it's a strange tool.. to trill a quarter note, you have to double-click and drag straight...

Re: Printing 2-up to pdf, Mac OS dialog
No need to insert blank pages, I've discovered. FInale does it automatically in 2-ups.

Re: Printing 2-up to pdf, Mac OS dialog
It works great! Thanks... I have one more idea to add to the thread, with regard to printing big band scores.. If they're set to 11x17 in Finale, they occupy the center 3/5 of the page... but, if they're set to 8.5x11 landscape in Finale, but then printed to 11x17 in the printer page setup, and outp...

Re: Printing 2-up to pdf, Mac OS dialog
Peter - Thanks very much for your replies! I'm looking forward to trying them... With an eye toward a workflow that involves emailing a pdf ahead of time, and saving labor taping parts, this workflow seems like it will be a good idea in theory... My workaround above fails at the local Staples... the...

Printing 2-up to pdf, Mac OS dialog
I have a big band score. In order to deliver this, I need to output from FInale to pdf. I would like to print to 11x17, with the score 1-up in Landscape, and the parts 2-up, side by side in Landscape. I have not been able to do this from FInale. I tried every variable that I could think of with the ...

Re: Slash notation spacing
Try applying time signature spacing to the piano part... I've run into a similar issue, and that seems to solve it

Re: Mac Printing Issues - part names in linked parts
Here's a simpler way (in Finale 2009): Text Tool. Double-click on the page to create a text block. Text menu > Inserts > Part/Score Name When you have created linked parts, go to view each part via the Document menu: Document menu > Edit Part > You will see that the above mentioned text block displ...
