Re: How to enter Double Time Signature—Finale 2014, MAC
I just want to add my thanks, several years later, for these excellent and detailed instructions. The seventh bar after 172a in Elektra is saved.

Re: Selection tool problem
I will try the upgrade, since nothing else has worked and I am now experiencing other problems as well. Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it is strange that it all seemed to be working as normal for quite some time, until it wasn't.

Selection tool problem
I am using Finale 2014.5.7098 on a 2016 MacBook Pro with Sierra 10.12.6 Suddenly, the selection tool does not highlight the bars I click on. I can still edit the bars, but have to just imagine that they are highlighted. Also, changes that I make, whether with the selection tool, expression editor, o...

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
Oh - I see. I was too focussed on what was actually in active use in the document. I'll remember that for next time.
The problem seems to be solved, anyway, so I needn't trouble you further (with that particular thing).
Thank you for your patience!

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
I think I did it. Full Score: Edit Measure number regions: Show on Start of Staff System only. Then, Measure tool, Select All. Control+Click on a measure number handle. Hide/Show Based on Region Repeat for every two pages. Done. Bar numbers in the parts are only at the beginning of each staff and in...

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
Hm - I had already cleared everything but the measure numbers using "Clear Selected Items" - is there hidden data? Clicking on the respective tools doesn't reveal anything.

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
I reduced the sample to four empty bars of a single instrument and compressed it and it's still 154 KB - sorry I don't know how to make it work. I will have to figure out something else.

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
Today I discovered that restoring the measure number defaults on each part does not stick: when the document is saved, closed, then reopened later, all the bar numbers are back on most of the parts (though, strangely, not all of the parts). <sigh>

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
Here is what I ended up doing: 1. I changed the Staff Attributes of every instrument so that Measure Numbers was checked under Items to Display. I had tinkered with it when I originally set up the document so that bar numbers would only appear on certain instruments in the score, but I think it was ...

Re: measure numbers in linked parts
Yes - I did mean Score Settings - sorry. Show on Top Staff was not checked in either the score or part settings, but when I set up the document, I selected certain lines in the score (including the top) to show all the bar numbers so I would always have a line on the screen where I could see them, i...

measure numbers in linked parts
I am using Finale 2014c on a Macbook Pro. I have displayed bar numbers on every bar of a full score, but in the linked parts I would like the numbers to display only at the beginning of each staff. The settings in Edit Measure Number Regions appear to be correct for the Linked parts (Use Staff Setti...

Re: I can't insert any notes more
Thank you, Peter - I guess this is the last time I will make the mistake of trying to keep a multi-movement orchestral piece in a single document - I won't do that again. I didn't even know there was a limit. I did go ahead and split the document in two, and the problem was solved, though now it app...

Re: I can't insert any notes more
I am having the same problem using Finale 2014d on a Macbook Pro. I suddenly cannot enter music with Speedy or Simple Entry or via copy and paste or drag and drop. The notes simply do not appear (or in Speedy Entry, they appear, then vanish as soon as I leave that bar). This is only a problem with o...

Re: Changes appearing in wrong bar
Thank you so much! I would certainly not have figured that one out on my own. The Forum has long been very helpful to me, but this is the first question I've posted myself. I'm very grateful for your quick and clear response.

Changes appearing in wrong bar
I'm using Finale 2011 to create a vocal score on my Mac. I've created a separate measure number region for each aria, each with displayed bar numbers starting over again at bar one. Working in region six today, I noticed that time and key signature and clef changes are appearing four bars later than...
