But there is no sound from the trumpet part in Finale. This trumpet is on a separate staff from the open solo trumpet, dedicated to JABB bucket mute. Nothing. No audio.

Any self-respecting trumpeter will be able to play down to F# easily, but it's true that register lacks power and won't necessarily sound good in ensemble writing.
