I downloaded it, installed it, used it and the single whole note (that is supposed to be on measure #46) is still not visible. The file is attached.

I'm sorry, I don't see how this solves my problem??? I would appreciate specific instructions ... Additionally, the download file to which you referred, i.e., "JW Change," doesn't appear to have anything to do with layers according to the description on the website.

Hi, Miker: I started out by entering the notes and changing the note heads individually with Special Tools. When I couldn't make the whole note visible, I then tried again by switching tactics to making all of the notes on that measure/layer with "x" noteheads, globally. Obviously, it still didn't ...

Can't See Notes on Second Layer (Finale 2014)
I am constructing a chart wherein on three measures, alternate noteheads must be used. However, I also need to put a regular whole note on the second layer. Unfortunately, when I do this and then return to layer one, the whole note is invisible. 
How can I cause it to show? Thank you!
