Re: Partial barre in fretboards
Worked perfectly! I didn't know you could stretch the arc line... Thanks Gilberto!Gilberto Rey wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 6:01 amHi,
Remove the 3 dots with the eraser and use the barre tool (activated arched line on your image) and draw it from string 3 till 1 and let go of the mouse button.
I hope I understood your question...

Partial barre in fretboards
Hi all,
any way to show a partial barre in fretboards? I prefer not to use numbers for the black dots also.
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: Rests don't print
It was in the staff style. Rests were not checked as Items to Display. I checked the box, and there they were. Staff Tool > select the document > right click > Edit Staff Attributes... Check the box next to Rests So obvious, thanks Mike! Jeff I realize now why a few things are unticked f...

Re: Change number font in Fretboard Editor
… where may I enlarge the fretboard size? thanks! Jeff Not enough info. Do you need to scale fretboards “globally” = all the fretboards in the entire document? Or do you need to scale “locally” - perhaps only one single fretboard? 1) For scaling “globally” I would try Document menu > Document Optio...

Re: Change number font in Fretboard Editor
Gilberto Rey, You can get there via the Chord Definition dialog box: In the dialog Chord Definition, click the button {Edit Styles…} In the dialog Fretboard Styles, click the button {Fonts & Shapes…}. You end in the dialog Fretboard Style Fonts and Shapes. By The Way: Your words are “to make the nu...

Re: where to adjust tab numbers vertically
… How do I choose the lower P.M. smartline? I keep getting Palm Mute.......... . I am not sure I understand, but you should try clicking these two buttons: SmartLineDesigner.jpg The ‘Left Continuation’ is used when the smart line crosses a system break. I would see the ‘Left Continuation’ text as a...

where to adjust tab numbers vertically
I'm unable to find where to adjust tab numbers vertically in document options. Thx!
Re: Pre bends
At this point I don't mind as I only print copies for my students.
Re: Pre bends
I would like four quarter notes with full bends on the 2nd and 4th, not sure why the bend starts from 5th instead of the 7th fret.
Re: Pre bends
Peter, Thank you very much for your help! I figured out what I was doing wrong by slowing down and using 8ths, quarters, and half notes and inputting different fret locations to see how finale responded. I also made a custom line w "Full" at the end. Now the protocol is making much more sense. :idea...
Re: Pre bends
Here's my dilemma, Not sure how to make a pre-bend on the second note without adding an extra note, text, or parentheses. The top image with parentheses and 1/2 fraction above.
Re: Pre bends
Actually I think that was the trick! I was starting to pull my hair out, haha! Thank you! The only thing is I had to use the space of three 8th notes as opposed to two. How should I notate that? for playback...
*Edit* I think I've got that also...

Re: Pre bends
I modified a bend and release to get this, still not the rhythm I want though. So I guess I forgot how to notate the numbers and/or rhythm
Re: Pre bends
Thank you Peter, I am now able to make the arrow yet I'm not sure how to notate tab-wise the 7th fret sounding like 9th fret. I want the 9 to show as 7. I tried using a grace note but that isn't right either.
Pre bends
It's been a while since I used Finale and am getting back into the fray lol...
I can't remember for the life of me how to do ghost or pre bends.
I do remember asking in a previous (now deleted) Finale chat-group but I can't find the thread.
Thanks for any help.
