Re: Time signatures not showing
Everything is checked in the filter. The other thing that happened is that the file won't let me add pages. It just jams every measure up at the last page. I unlock systems, but no change. Never had this happen before, but I've never pasted together something quite as much as this.

Time signatures not showing
I composed a piece using separate files. Each "chunk" has many different time signatures. All of them showed correctly. When I copied them from their individual files and pasted in a new file, none of the time signatures showed up. I've gone into "show time signatures" for each system but nothing ch...

Re: Piano composers, unite!
Thanks, Zen. I don't understand the "politics" of getting a request to Finale and then getting them to change a rule. This seems like such an obvious mistake on their part. I am aware of how much it takes to change software, but really....

Re: Rolled Chords articulation design
Nevermind. I just used the "glissando" Smart Shape and slapped a little arrowhead from the Articulations Tool on it. Thought there'd be a shorter shortcut. Thanks.

Re: Rolled Chords articulation design
Articulation vs. Articulation Okay, if I don't click on the "Articulation" tool, which definition of "articulation" holds the key? Naming, it seems to me, is important, and sometimes it seems that the Finale manual was written by the same people who wrote Roland's manuals in the 80's. Sorry. Thanks....

Re: Rolled Chords articulation design
hmmmmmm…….
Could be that in a past life I designed some rolled chord articulations and replaced the standard one....I don't know, but I'll try just loading the Default Library and see if I can make sense of it. Thanks for the help!

Rolled Chords articulation design
There seems to be some disconnect between the reality of Finale 25 and the help manual. The manual's description of rolled chord articulation has pretty much nothing to do what happens when you follow their instructions. In any case, the Rolled Chord articulations show up as 54-59, but I can't figur...

Piano score inner voice crossing staves
I'm sure the reason I can't find an answer for this is that I'm using the wrong words. Elaine Gould in her notation book "Behind Bars" calls it "double stemmed beams" on pg. 307. Essentially, it's an inner part moving between staves. For example, the right hand thumb will reach down and play a note ...

Automatic beaming in 12/16?
Is there a way to set up Finale to automatically beam 3 sixteenth notes together in 12/16 time? Seems logical, but now when I input notes, none of the notes are beamed (all separated.) Thanks.

Accidentally hid cue staff
I accidentally hid the staff I was using for cues (only on one system). I've made many additions since doing that and don't want to go back and undo all my changes and additions. Is there any way to "unhide" or get that one staff in one system to show up again?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks, N and Mo. I never use playback in Finale, but thanks for the help. I just edited an existing term in Misc. and used that. Worked fine. I appreciate the quick responses!

Re: Size of Expressions on cue staff
Thanks, Mo. Nope, that's not it. It's a tempo alteration, which I guess, by default, is assigned to all staves. Should I just make another expression that looks like what I want but isn't a tempo alteration?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Size of Expressions on cue staff
I have a single regular size staff with a reduced size cue staff above it. I want to assign an expression to just the lower regular staff, and I want it to be the 100% size of that staff. When I assign an expression to that staff, it places itself in the cue staff and reduces the size, which stays r...

Add cue staff to one line?
I understand the linear workings of Finale, and know that adding a cue staff will add that staff to the whole piece. However, I've discovered a cue I should have added...after I've edited the whole part. I really don't want to have to go back and tweak the whole thing again after I've basically got ...

Re: Space Systems Evenly conundrum
Thanks, Zuill. That seems to be the problem, because the bottom margin looks very large on the problem system. I do want to keep what I've already done, so changing ALL the page margins is not good. When I tried to change the bottom margin of that one system, it turned out funky. Will keep trying. O...

Space Systems Evenly conundrum
Working on parts for a piano 5tet, and in trying to make reasonable page turns for the strings, am hitting a problem with "Space Systems Evenly". Doing that has been easy before, but now, when I set a page to 8 systems, it bunches all the systems up near the top and leaves about a third of the page ...

Michael R E said: "for a cue staff (one that shows alternate performance options, for example): add a staff to the score, resize only that staff to 75% (or 65% if you prefer a bit smaller). add your notes where needed. then hide the staff where it is not needed (you can select the page layout tool I...

Text Expressions
I know this has been said before, but please make it easier to change categories in text expressions and have them be universal and not document related. Since you won't make a search engine, this seems like something you could do. As it is, it's pretty unwieldy. For example: While working in docume...
