Re: Missing Measure Numbers
The measure number font was set to "Finale Maestro" which doesn't have any symbols at all in the number slots because it uses the SMuFL encoding format. So Finale only shows the default Arial font - at least on Windows, don't know about macOS. Make sure to use a text font or a musical symbol font (l...

Re: SMuFL Font ommissions - Jazz font
Which fall/lift symbol is missing from the original Jazz font? I think they are all available, but Finale has split the symbols into several different SMuFL sections. Some are in "Standard", some in "Alternates & Extras" and some in "Brass Techniques". If you search for the symbol name, Finale will ...

Opus Big Time is included in Sibelius. Maybe installing a Sibeliues demo installs the font?

Re: Large time signature (not Engraver Time)
There are more "Big Time" fonts:
FPBigTime (from the Finale Productivity Ppack)
Opus Big Time Std (from Sibelius)
But I don't have Sonoma, so I can't test them.

BTW, there are many other fonts that are based on the SCORE look and that work in Finale. And as they are not SMuFL they also work in Finale versions before 27. Re: first second endings collisions in parts
Yes, Perfect Layout v3 has been available since March. Since then all new clients get v3 by default. All v2 users can use the "beta" for free. Although it's still called "beta", the plug-in development is the same as in the five years before: The plug-in gets bi-weekly updates with fine-tuning, more...

Re: Piano gliss
I once developed a plug-in for that, especially for harp glissando playback AND notation. But it works on the piano too. The plug-in optionally adds l.v. articulations to the last note and fixes the horizontal position of the glissando smartshape to not collide with accidentals. Here is a video of t...

The latest version of Perfect Layout v3.0169 now supports automatic horizontal and vertical layout of first and second ending collisions, both in score and parts. Re: Problem to write arpeggio symbols
The articulation is easier to add if you use a "single wiggle" symbol instead of Finale's double wiggle: the single wiggle matches the note height while the double wiggle is often too large. As described here: https://elbsound.studio/elbsound-music-font-package-for-finale.php#arpeggio and https://ww...

You could also assign the text expressions to parts only. Just right-click the expression, select "Edit Expression Assignment" and then "Show On: Part(s) Only". attachtopartsonly.jpg Another solution is my Perfect Layout plug-in. It automatically hides the cue notes, clefs, smartshapes and cue texts...

Re: best method for exporting as .pdf's?
Yes, but the hairpin/PDF problem could occur with any file. The PDF problems don't happen with every file.
It depends on the length of the hairpin and the hairpin settings (opening width, line thickness).
Only if the "dangerous" hairpin lengths occur in that file, this issue will come up.

Re: best method for exporting as .pdf's?
BTW, if you use my Perfect Layout plug-in, you won't run into this old Finale "Hairpin/PDF" issue. The plug-in automatically detects those hairpins where Finale has printing problems and adjusts them, so that they print correctly. See FAQ: https://elbsound.studio/perfect-layout/faq.php#go-to-hairpins1

You could use the "Change gap between chord symbol and all suffixes on all chords" plug-in: https://elbsound.studio/jw-lua-scripts.php#changechordgap which is included in the Elbsound Music Font Package and in the Elbsound Text Font Package. You need to do three minor changes to the cord: Currently ...

Re: Adding brackets to lyrics
As the brackets in text fonts are usually designed for the height of a single text line, they may look too bold if you use them at a higher font size required for multiple lyrics lines (7-10 is from text fonts, 1-6 from music fonts). https://elbsound.studio/assets/img/ES/large%20piano%20brackets.jpg...

If you are on Finale 25.5, you should better use the "Pori" font family. This is Petaluma converted for Sibelius. These fonts are nearly compatible with Maestro, while Petaluma is SMuFl and only works in Finale 27. https://www.notationcentral.com/product/pori-fonts-for-sibelius/ AFAIK the text font ...

One thing I don't like is PL removes any ques from the score. In this case the director who is going to play this chart asked for cues to be included in the score. Now perhaps there is a setting in PL that will not remove them but I don't know. You just have to deactivate it in the Layer/Cues tab: ...

But shouldn't the solution be the same - even if it's a Chinese font?
Go to the Font Utilities tool, select the (Chinese) font name that you see in the lyrics window and replace it with another font.

Bill,
hm, here it also works on macOS. It's even easier as you don't have to copy&paste the font name, but can select the missing font directly in the Utilities tool. Here is the macOS screencam video:

Re: Lyrics font gone crazy
The font name in the 5K Blessing file is definitely corrupt: it lists as "JansonText Janson Text 55 Roman" in Finale. This is probably not the correct font name. But if you open the font dialog in the lyrics window, copy&paste that font name into the Document->Data Check->Font Utilities and replace ...
