In the Text menu, change the justification to ‘Center’.

Re: TRUMPET Low F# Not Sounding--Gb Too

That's awfully low for a Bb Tpt. To me that's Trombone territory. Many Big Band Tpt Players can't really play much below the staff! I think it would sound mushy to write the Tpts so low. YMMV. In my experience many players in professional symphony or opera orchestras may often use rather large mout...

Re: mover tool

On Windows, Alt+Down creates beam-between-the-staff cross-staff notation. Is there some setting I'm missing? Utilities, stem direction, up. Curiously, when I first entered this, keying L in Speedy worked, but now that won't work, but the Utilities way does. What has changed to cause the Speedy L to...

Re: mover tool

With the rest roughly as I think you want it: I dragged the rest down in Speedy. I keep noticing small details such as stem direction; but it's all doable fairly easily using a) the selection tool for moving the notes to the other stave and b) Speedy Entry for such things as stem direction and movin...

Re: mover tool

I was able to do what I think you want with ease using the demo version of F27 on a Mac. I selected each note to move in turn and keyed Option plus the down arrow. I expect the Windows equivalent is just as easy.

I've never seen that (in music)! :o
In full scores of Puccini's operas (as published by Ricordi) uniti is the usual word to cancel divisi (for example).

Re: Finale B4 Template wrong?

Yes: officially the ISO B4 is 250mm by 353mm, while the Japanese is 257mm by 364mm. The proportions are identical, as are those of A4 and A3. That Finale's figures seem slightly out for the Japanese is probably related to Finale's way of rounding up or down, and would be unlikely to make any realiza...

Re: Finale B4 Template wrong?

Finale seems to be providing the Japanese B4 size, rather than the ISO B4. As it happens my usual music printing firm here, the Scottish Music Centre, has a physical printer which is Japanese, so the B4 paper they buy is correct for that. Either way, as Motet suggests, a modest % reduction will redu...

Re: simple but baffled

In case it makes you feel any better, musicus,I used to have to painfully "figure out" page numbering in Finale every time I did it, which was fortunately infrequent, because page numbers were included in my main template. Way over-complicated and unclear. Ditto here (plus why can't one have differ...

Re: How to unslash a grace note

The accent key will add/remove a slash from individual grace notes. I don't know about the Mac, but on Windows it's the key above the tab key. On a UK Mac keyboard the grave accent (or tilde with shift) key is next to the LH shift key, but I think that on a US Mac keyboard it is above tab (or below...

Re: sixteenth note sextuplet

On a Mac in Speedy for a triplet consisting of crotchet (quarter) followed by quaver (eighth), I key Command 3 (Control 3 on Windows?) and enter a quaver, then immediately back the cursor to the entered quaver and change it to a crotchet. This preserves the triplet value of three quavers in the spac...

In Speedy, just type Ctrl+2, then enter the two eighth notes. Couldn't be simpler.

Re: duplet in a 6/8 bar

I'm not sure of the equivalent Windows modifier key, but on a Mac after entering the first quaver (8th) I backspace to it and press Option 2, which then makes the note the first note of a duplet. Or, as Bill says, you can have dotted quavers (which is what I usually do). Or you can turn off Fill wit...

Re: Asterisk function not working for Articulations

I do the same as Bill does. It works as long as one drags on the stave, even if the notes to have the articulation added are on ledger lines above or below the stave itself. If you want to change an articulation on all notes in a section to another, select them all while in the articulation tool the...

Re: zero beaming

It is a generally outdated notation, that is mostly frowned upon nowadays. However, if you do want to do it, the easiest way is to select the bars in which you want this to happen (or select all, if that is what you wish), then under the Utilities menu choose Rebeam, Rebeam to Lyrics. In modern nota...

Something near enough the same happens to me with F 26.3 and Bluetooth headphones. However, if I just ignore the messages Fin...

Re: TGTools menu shortcut for ties

I think the real cause is the interference with that Finale pre-programmed setting for the 0 which opens and closes a Speedy frame (which is actually quite pointless, what is it for?). But I see no way to de-program that bult-in short cut. Is there? I use this ‘0’ very frequently in Speedy. It's de...
