Re: Mini Score

On the Staff tool menu, you can Hide Empty Staves. Select the staves and systems you want first.

Re: Editing filter active or not

I always use the filter, and have macros for setting various subsets. Every for copying everything, you perhaps don't want to copy staff styles, for example.

That can still result in stray hairpins. There's a bug.

Re: Bowings not printing

By doing an experiment I meant just creating simple documents with a few bowed notes both with Maestro and Finale Maestro and confirming that the new font is the problem. It could be something else.

It might also work to just change the font for just the bowing articulations.

Re: Bowings not printing

It was just a guess that the new fonts were it. Perhaps a simple experiment is in order before you go to all that trouble.

Re: Bowings not printing

My guess would be the half-baked SMuFL fonts. Can you switch to Maestro?

Where are you seeing staves not showing up? I see all three staves displayed in all 100 measures.

Re: Copying and pasting is transposing everything inconsistently

Triple-checking is good anyway!

For future reference, to get the clefs to copy you need to do this in the filter:

Re: Copying and pasting is transposing everything inconsistently

Another thought: do you have independent key signatures anywhere (either staff attributes or staff styles)?

Re: Copying and pasting is transposing everything inconsistently

Make sure the source and destination key signatures match in the same places.

If you want to post the files in question I'm willing to give it a try.

It may be that you have to put all the key signature changes into the empty document first.

Re: Trying to install an old version of Finale

You'll probably have to contact MakeMusic.

I still have 2005b installed on Windows 10, by the way, and it still works.

Re: Copying and pasting is transposing everything inconsistently

If I copy the first measure of "As it should be" into "Copy and and paste problems" it's fine, with and without filter. To copy the clefs, I had to choose that in the filter.

Re: backwards ties to hidden notes or chords

Instead of hiding the notes, change the noteheads to a blank (202). This may move some of the ties, in which case Utilities/Change/Ties/Outer placement = off seems to fix it. Printing works.

Re: rebar 5/4 into 2/2 with quintuplets?

I suspect it's a situation that most people wouldn't encounter. In addition to changing the time signature, somehow you need to reduce the duration of all the notes to 2/5 of their original values, create tuplets, and merge tied notes, which is a tall order. The JW Meter and Rhythm plug-in will halv...

In the percussion layout, you can designate noteheads for each type of note: closed (quarter, eighth, etc.), half, whole, and double whole.

Do you mean the notes and the whole rests on the same staff? Done with layers--notes in layer 1, whole rests in layer 2.

Re: Wandering text block

Like you, I would like a way to turn my latest efforts into a template rather than having to remember make changes in to places. Besides hairpins which remain, there is something else that I ran into a while back and documented here, but it's been a few years. I wish I could remember. It was a list ...
