Also be aware that Finale licenses must be for the most current version of the software to be eligible for a transfer.

If XML doesn't work and the charts are simple you could drop down to a MIDI file. Not elegant but it would be something, especially if he is an accomplished Sibelius user, he could fix up quickly from a PDF of the scores. If you get something like an i7, try the on chip (part of CPU) graphics first. The current offerings are a far, far cry from the original on-chip graphics.
