To me, a Scoop is a Half-Moon shape over the note.
This example is #45 in Articulations.

To me, the half moon shape indicates a "bend". The note is started on pitch, lipped flat, then back to pitch.

"Common practice" says that the layout for each part must match all the others. There must be a good reason for that approach.

Thanks. I played around with your suggestions and got even worse results. It seems that Finale is not "reading" the colors set in System Preferences. Maybe it's an expected limitation.

How are you changing the Time Signature - with the TS Tool? There is another way - Selection Tool, right click where you want the new TS and select it from the popdown menu.

I would suggest that you place the staccato dot in the staff and the tenuto above the staff, using 2 separate symbols. I think that placement is "standard practice". But only for pitches A, B and C.
