With an optical mouse there's really no need of a mouse pad.

Re: Use multiple VST samples on the same staff for different articulations?

You don't want to delete them, you want to create a new set for what you're working on. Then both will be available for future projects

Re: Use multiple VST samples on the same staff for different articulations?

Each VST instance has 16 channels. You could assign up to 4 to a staff in Finale (4 layers). But remember that Finale limits you to 8 VST instances. If you use the EWQLSO instruments, all articulations are on a single channel, accessed by keyswitches. This would be a practical way to go. If you use ...

MIDI/Audio - Device setup - Audio setup

You should be able to choose the Focusrite ASIO driver there.

No, no need for a DAW.

Did the VST you downloaded have both 32 and 64bit versions? If so, make sure you're pointing to the right one.

They provide their own player, and it will work with Finale like any other VSTi. No, Aria won't play it.

This is the reply I received from David Cusick: Hi William, Thanks for contacting MakeMusic. The site you are referencing is managed by Plogue so I cannot speak to that actions that they take on this site. If you are using Finale or Garritan products, the ARIA Player and Engine that is installed wit...

Re: E-MU audio interface and Windows 10

I think it's unlikely that a feature update would affect a driver that's been working. You can always try it, and roll back Windows if there's an issue.

BTW, ASIO4ALL is not a Steinberg product, and is a choice of last resort. A Card's native ASIO is always to be preferred.

Re: Halion from Cubase and Kontakt library in Finale V26

OK, let's go step by step. I don't have Halion installed, so we'll look at Kontakt.

Open Native Access
Click on the Installed Products tab on the left
Find and click on Kontakt
Click on Installation Path in the detail pane on the right
Write down the VST64 Location

Re: Halion from Cubase and Kontakt library in Finale V26

First you need to let Finale know where the plugins located. Go to MIDI/Audio, Device setup, Manage VST Plugin Directories and add the locations. Where are the locations you might ask? That's the rub. You would have seen the default locations during setup. I create my own VST folders, so can't help ...
