Any time I add an instrument it defaults to "Garritan." I read in the manual that MakeMusic only supports its own products in the sound maps. I've always done this using the Score Manager. All the banks/staves are displayed, whereas the mixer (unless I'm mistaken) requires scrolling among banks. With the Score Manager individual layers can be muted or soloed - I don't know if this can be done with the mixer (I rarely use it).

That doesn't work if you drag-copy: you would then have to highlight the pasted section and transpose. Perhaps that's what the OP was referring to? Either way, to me it doesn't seem like an onerous step to transpose after copying.

Have you checked midi/audio - VST Banks & Effects and checked that the volume slider is not set to zero? When I've added a new device or version it seems to always default to zero volume.
