Open file manager, locate the file, right-click and select "properties." Is the file marked "read only"? If so, uncheck it, click "apply" and close. Then try saving the file. If that doesn't work try saving the file with a different name ("save as").

In Windows, after applying the slur press the letter "F" on the keyboard to flip the slur over or under. I believe Finale decides which way to initially place the slur based on the note positions.

You might also try using windows system restore. Restore points are automatically created with a windows update. This won't affect your files but will restore windows to the prior version. That would at least let you know if the recent update is the problem, and if Finale launches you can get your w...

At least in Mac Finale the Smart Shape Palette will return when you switch back to the Smart Shape Tool. It works the same way in Windows as well. I don't believe it's a Noteperformer problem since this occurred when I used VSL. In experimenting it seems this occurs when an HP preference set other than "Garritan" is selected. I think there may be a bug in HP when custom preference sets are created.

If you want to use the preset block and its attributes just double-click the control box, delete the highlighted text, and type whatever you want. You can then edit the font characteristics the same as if the block had been manually entered. ...

Highlight the text you want to change and then click "Text" in the menu bar (not the text block icon). The font selection screen will pop up and only the highlighted text will be changed with the selected font. I checked both v27 and v2014 and they work the same way.

Duplicate and then edit the new articulation, inverting the playback values. In the Articulation designer box click the "help" button and it explains the values and how to set the roll on the beat or before the beat.

Just drag the left-hand border of the palette to the position you want. Be sure that in Edit/Preferences/View that "save window states..." and "load window states..." boxes are checked so it will save your palette positions.
