Re: Mac/F26: Quick Playback

I don't think Finale 26 and Mojave are compatible, but I don't know what parts of Finale are not supposed to work.

Re: Lyrics appearing in the staff lines

Where do you enter the replacement words? In the staff or in the Lyrics Window box? My first thought would be for you to make sure you have the lyrics in the proper verse, but it is going to be best if you can post a sample file and describe your steps which result in the misplaced lyrics.

Re: Shifting Staccato marks vertically within staff

If you double-click the staccato box you get the articulation designer and you have some options that might help, such as unclicking Avoid Staff Lines and unclicking Always Place Outside Staff.

Re: Need to increase LYRIC FONT SIZE in score.

It worked for me. Make sure that you have the correct verse in the window.

When I downloaded it, it was set to verse 3. Change it to verse 1 and give it another shot.

Re: Need to increase LYRIC FONT SIZE in score.

In the Lyrics Tool open the Lyrics Window (Cmd-L), select text and enlarge it by typing Shift Cmd period.

While you are in that lyrics window there are several instances of "you're" which should be "your".

Re: Tablature problems

I think the second staff is an octave too low. It's hard to see on what you posted, but I reckon the numbers have a minus in front of them so for instance the C is 4 frets below the E and the D is 2 frets below. Try selecting a few funky measures and transpose up an octave and see what happens. Here...

Re: Unison Double Noteheads

I should have been clearer on that in what I sent.

After the cursor is on the F, then in this case 5 for a quarter note and ++ for ##. After that and 9 there is no click and drag.

Re: Unison Double Noteheads

Yes you position the cursor, but you don't need to use the mouse. Here's what I would do.

Enter the G
Left arrow so the cursor is on the G
Down arrow so the cursor is on the F
F##
9

I timed it -- well under a minute.

I would enter F## and type 9 for enharmonic spelling.

Re: Extracted part (pdf) all scrunched up....how do I fix?

Extracting parts is the old way to manage parts, and is still occasionally preferred in some situations. But as Peter wrote, Linked Parts is the way to go. Check it out in the manual.

Re: Repeat sign in mid measure - how to?

Zuill mentioned extra steps. For anyone who checks this thread in the future, with the ¾ plus ¼ method you would normally have to exclude the ¼ measure from numbering, but in your case this isn't an issue since you don't have measure numbers.

Re: Repeat sign in mid measure - how to?

Do what Zuill said, but for your interest, in olden days before plug-ins and indoor plumbing the solution was to make a ¾ measure on the left side of the repeat and a ¼ measure on the other side, and have them display as 4/4. Good times.

Re: Beaming eighth notes in 6/8, adjusting bars

If it's just a measure here and there, in Speedy you can break or make a beam with /

If you want it all the way through, make the time signature ¾ but set it to display 6/8 instead.

Re: Chorus lyrics

Mike, I just made a little file and tested entering lyrics on Chorus 1 and hyphens were working okay. As you are aware, often when using Type Into Score the hyphens don't pop up until you get to the next measure, but I doubt that's what you were dealing with. I did not fill 4 verses and then add Cho...
