I can download my Garritan JABB when I log into my Finale account (https://account.makemusic.com/Account/Login).
Hope this helps

One more way: Select the measure(s) -> right-click -> edit measure attributes -> barlines -> invisible. Done

Re: Individual/Independent Note Placement (Layer 1 &2)
Thanks so much - that did it! After un-checking the cross-layer option I could drag around the notes with their accidentals as I wanted. I used speedy entry for this.

Individual/Independent Note Placement (Layer 1 &2)
Hi folks, hope to find some help here. Could not figure out for myself how to do it... This comes from a Jazz Combo Score. The upper notes (layer 1) are a melody cue, the lower notes (layer 2) are optional backings. In the original notation the accidentals are placed near the corresponding notes in ...

Re: "backward" ties
Thanks, but it does not work for me - "Tie alterations" WAS checked. And, just in case, I used "Update Layout"... Tried to edit the filter and check Tie alterations only - still no success.Neither copy+paste nor dragging works. Strange: If I DISABLE the filter, copy+paste as well as dragging works i...

cautinary accidentals - parenthesis globally
IA friend gave me a Big Band score to check. There are lots of cautionary accidentals (which is good, since it is for beginners). Unfortunately, some of the cautionary accidentals are w th parenthesis, some are not. I there a function like: "Check all accidentals and decide if they are cautionary or...

"backward" ties
The first note in a coda system needs a tie pointing backward (i.e. to the left). In the measure before the coda system there is a rest. When try I put a tie to the first coda note with "Shift+T" it does not work for me (because of the rest, I suppose. But even if there was a note, the tie would app...

Narrow Slash Chords
Hello, is there a way to change the horizontal width of subtext slash chords in Finale? The attached pic shows a slash chord from Sibelius vs. the same chord in Finale - sometimes I just need a "narrow" subtext chord, especially if there are four of these chords in one bar. (Broadway Copyist or Jazz...

Re: Convert pdf. to mxl
For Windows (or Mac with CrossOver), maybe you could try "Capella-Scan": https://www.capella-software.com/us/index.cfm/download/capella-scan/download-capella-scan/ Ha problems with "handwritten" fonts like Finale Jazz or so. And, as has been said, real handwritten scores cannot be recognized (there ...

Could someone help, please? See picture: In my OpenOffice "Writer" I create a text. When I copy & paste it into the Expression Designer it does not display as it should. What do I have to type into the Expression Designer box? I use a Mac! I created the text in OpenOffice by copying the characters f...

Re: How to stretch an EXPRESSION TOOL hairpin ?
There are six hairpins under "Miscellaneous" in the Expression Selection (at least under MacOS). I want to use it for "esthetic" reasons - I would like it to have a handwritten look and not the straight look from the shape designer. I know, i could create the expression in Photoshop or the like and ...

How to stretch an EXPRESSION TOOL hairpin ?
I have a score in handwritten style / Broadway Copyist. I want to use the long hairpin from the expression tool selection, not a hairpin created in the smart shape selection. This hairpin should extend for two measures, but it is too short by default. Is it possible to stretch it? What I tried - I r...

Re: Slash / Rhythmic Notation and Chords
Aaargh. Guess why not: No problem for one measure or one staff - but I have this problem in way too many measures. So I am looking for advice to avoid manual adjustment.

Slash / Rhythmic Notation and Chords
Hello, I often have to mix slash and rhythmic notation with chords above. The standard slash symbol is too large for my taste, so I change it (doc.options -> alternate notation - large slash: music characters -> change from #213to #243). But then the slash is not in the middle of my staff line but t...

Re: Slash notation: How to get SMALL slashes
I, too, use the Jazz font for slashes in Broadway Copyist documents. It's easy: Go to Document Options>Fonts Select the Notation pop-up menu Select Alternate Notation Click Set Font Choose Jazz -encephalon Thanks - it works! BUT: Why in the world does MM scatter these options all over the menues? W...

Re: Slash notation: How to get SMALL slashes
However, the small slashes are perhaps a bad idea since they make the Slash Notation look more like Rhythmic Notation. But the advantage is that the chord symbols are "popping out", because there is not so much distracting black colour on the sheet. So maybe in the end it is a matter of personal ta...

Slash notation: How to get SMALL slashes
Hi, this is my first post on this board after MM shut down the forum. Thanks for provoiding this platform! Now my question: Is there a simple way to change the size of the slashes in staff style "slash notation"? I could not find a setting for this. Of course I could do it with a work-around (see pi...
