Re: Opaque Multimeasure numbers - is this Possible in Finale?
Hello Peter, it's taken me a while to answer your reply because it's taken me some time to understand and then experiment with your example. I must admit that I have rarely used the shape designer and don't really know how to use it. I have taken this opportunity to mess around with it and now think...

Re: Opaque Multimeasure numbers - is this Possible in Finale?
Thanks for your reply Peter. That method is not very practical for me since I'd have many such multi-measure rest numbers to affect like the one you showed in your example. What I guess I am hoping for is some way to affect the multi-measure numbers globally in a document so that they all appear wit...

Opaque Multimeasure numbers - is this Possible in Finale?
Hello, I am running Finale 2014.5 on a Mac using OS High Sierra 10.13.6 Happy Fathers Day to All the Fathers out there!!! In my attempts to increase the Real Estate in my parts, I have lowered the multi-measure numbers into the staff. What I’d like to do is to make the numbers easier to read by putt...

Re: Alternating Time Signatures in Finale - Is it Possible?
OK, I've been messing around with all the suggestions and here are my findings: Making changes to the Score are fairly straight forward. In each section (there are several) that starts with the Alternating Time Signatures of C 3/4 time, the first measure I affect using the Measure Attributes and add...

I like this. How did you add the space before the 3/4?

Re: Alternating Time Signatures in Finale - Is it Possible?
Yes, I tried that first but I wanted to stay true to what the composer had written (C & 3/4) and this was the only solution I could think of.
If I knew a way to substitute the 4/4 with a C using Compound time that would be the way to go.

Alternating Time Signatures in Finale - Is it Possible?
Hello, I am running Finale 2014.5 on a Mac using OS High Sierra 10.13.6 Is it possible to create Alternating Time Signatures in Finale? What I am trying to do is copy a score that has alternating time signatures of C time followed by 3/4 time over and over again. My work around has been to set the f...

Re: Multimeasure Rests numbering on Single measures
Thank you all for your replies! I think it must have been an oversight of the Finale programmers to have this issue on a single measure. Apparently the best work around is to just hide those offending measure counts. Probably easiest to just set the number at 2 for "Start numbers at" in preferences,...

Multimeasure Rests numbering on Single measures
Hello, I am running Finale 2014.5 on a Mac using OS High Sierra 10.13.6 I’d like to have Finale display a multimeasure rest on a single measure, but when I do it, it looks silly as seen in the screen shot that accompanies this post. Is there any way to turn off the double measure number indication f...

Re: Two Columns of Text & Music on the same page
Thank you all for your suggestions!!! Doing it with 2 text blocks set up as columns was the best work around by far! Setting up the text first in Word and then copy & pasting into Finale's text block was fairly straight forward and easy. Just a lot of nudging and futzing to get things just right. Th...

Re: Two Columns of Text & Music on the same page
I'm getting the impression that Finale doesn't have very strong page layout chops.
I am enclosing a screen shot of what I'm trying to do, but my work around yields grainy results in the text.

Two Columns of Text & Music on the same page
Hello,
I am running Finale 2014.5 on a Mac using OS High Sierra 10.13.6
I'm trying to create a page in Finale where the top half of the page is two columns of text, and the bottom half of the page is music. I can't figure out how to make this happen...can anyone offer some guidance?
Thanks,

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
Dear Mr. Hedelin, This is HUGE, this pretty much solves all the problems I've been having for years, I'm glad I reached out to the community!!! Here's what I did to fix the problem. The first example is what I had checked in the Score List for Tempo Marks. It seemed a No-Brainer to have it checked t...

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
Well that's what I did, I assigned the third expression to the score and the part remained with one of the other two expressions.
Perhaps later on today, I'll create a new document and see If I can get the same behavior.

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
The font un-recognition is due to the fact that I raised the lower line via the "Baseline Shift". As soon as you do that "Use Tempo Category Fonts" becomes disabled. What I was getting at was that if you select a different iteration of the same tempo mark, I have included 3, it doesn't change in the...

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
I left the same expression in 3 different iterations for you to play with. Try setting in the score one of them and see if the expression changes in the part as it should to the one in the score.

OK, I'm attaching the file.
I've deleted most everything, but the problem still remains.
You change the tempo marking in the score but it doesn't change in the part.
Please let me know what you think the problem is.
Thank you!

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
Yea, I stumbled upon this trick and will use it frequently in the future making parts. However, this does not solve my problem which is... If I change an expression in the score a good while after making parts and decide to change things, I change them in the score, that is where I'm supposed to mak...

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
I was able to highlight just a portion of the bottom line and used "Baseline Shift" to raise just the Quarter = 100 part of the expression to get it out of the way of the other cue. So in other words, I was able to use two different degrees of "Baseline Shift" on the lower line. As you can see from ...

Re: Finale Tempo Marks - adjustments in Score but no change in Parts?
OK, here are two screen shots.
1) Score in Scroll View 2) Part When I make the change in the Score, the parts are not updated with the change, so I have to remember what I've changed and manually change each tempo marking. PITA really.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your suggestion, however it has no effect upon my problem. The Score says one thing and the parts say another.
