Begin rehearsal numbers at different number
Is there a way to start the rehearsal numbers at 0 instead of 1?

Re: Switch horizontal alignment of chord notes
Thanks, Peter, for the debugging info. I found a workaround for now. I just switched layers 1 and 2, and it looks fine. It's an isolated case, but if it comes up again, I'll revisit your post.

Re: Switch horizontal alignment of chord notes
I updated to 27.4.1 and still am having the same problem. I tried cmd+4. I also tried Utilities > > Music Spacing > Apply Music Spacing to Score > Note Spacing.

Re: Switch horizontal alignment of chord notes
Yes, I meant layers, not voices. The way I divided the tie (3+2 instead of 1+4) makes more sense in the context. It may not be the standard way to do it. So, what I'm hearing is that I should probably just update Finale, which means I will need to deal with that [“Finale (Autoupdate).app” is damaged...

Re: Switch horizontal alignment of chord notes
I tried deleting everything and putting in voice 2 first, and I still get the same behavior where the dotted quarter lines up on the wrong side. I guess I'm asking how to switch the horizontal orientation if they do end up wrong without sliding them manually. Is there a toggle or something like that?

Switch horizontal alignment of chord notes
What's the proper way to deal with this problem? I've been just moving the notes left and right using the Note Position Tool. Is there a better way?

Re: preserve manual measure spacing
Ok, thanks. I turned off automatic music spacing. I'll see if that fixes the issue. The multimeasure rests is already unchecked.

preserve manual measure spacing
I have a couple of measures that I need to adjust manually for spacing. Finale doesn't get it quite right. I use the measure tool to drag the measures to stretch out one or two of the them, but I find that Finale reverts back to the old spacing when I make other changes elsewhere. I have the same pr...

Thanks for the information. It's excessive for what I'm working on right now, but I do have plans to come back to this with some other automation tasks I need to do.

Re: tie on new system inverted.
Ok, thanks. The Ctrl+F makes it easy enough to fix. Ya, I was dragging the ties manually. I didn't know the shortcut worked when using the tie tool.

tie on new system inverted.
I keep running into this problem: I have a tied note at the end of the a system. They tie goes up (or down), but then at the beginning of the next system, the tie is going down (or up). I tried command+F and command+L. I think sometimes it fixes it, but sometimes it doesn't, so I have to go to speci...

When I make the barline invisible, it keeps the gap. Is there a way to hide the barline and remove the space that it takes up?

Re: change note to custom duration
Yes, you are right, Shinohara. It's not quite the same. I just thought of that when I was trying to figure out what to do. The laissez vibrez looks ok for some of the spots, but not for others, especially when there is activity in another voice on the same staff. I think I got it working, Peter. It ...

Re: change note to custom duration
I don't see how to make the note a "not showing tuplet". I see the tuplet tool with the popup menu. Options like "ignore horizontal offset". I don't see anything about making it invisible. Could you give me a few more instructions? I'm willing to try it. I know it's a weird thing I'm trying to do. T...

change note to custom duration
Is there a way to change the duration of a note to an arbitrary length. Say I have a half note. It normally lasts for 4 eighth notes. Is there a way to make it last for 5 eighth notes? Or a whole note that lasts for 17 sixteenth notes? I've been adding extra notes to fill out the measure and hiding ...

design custom notehead
Is there a way to make a notehead? I want a square notehead, but I don't like the 2 that are available, E0B8 and E0B9. I want it kind of like E0B8, which is just an open square, but the sides need to be thicker, so that it looks more like a note. Is that possible to do?

Re: print output doesn't match.
no. i deleted the linked part. i unchecked multi-measure rest: update automatically. (i don't have any multi-measure rests, though) i tried printing to pdf via the print menu. i also tried using the graphics tool. when i close the finale file and re-open, the file looks the same, but does not match ...
