Thanks Motet! Fixed it. I should have thought of that - I have to trash the prefs early and often in pro tools.

4/4 is the only time signature Finale is giving me access to. Whether it's creating a new file or attempting to edit an existing one, nothing will change the time signature from 4/4. I have Finale 2014. A work associate is considering getting Notepad. Is there a definitive list of the limitations of Notepad? I found such a list, but it was three years old, so I'm reluctant to rely on it.

Changing the Full Staff Name and the Abbreviated Staff Name. Hit Okay.

Is it expected that one can't change the stem direction of one layer without it affecting other layers unless those other layers are hidden? That is currently the case for me.
