Re: Swarm of Finale 25/26 Bugs: At this point, Unusable
Is there a way to completely disable Rewire? Between the different DAWs I have to open and close, it appears to throw a lot of tantrums.

Re: Swarm of Finale 25/26 Bugs: At this point, Unusable
Just wiped my preferences. Looks like it solved the shortcut issues. Before the speedy entry context menu was showing C++ for enharmonic rest (measure), now it is back to Ctrl+9.
I guess it's going to take some more tinkering to fix the other ones.

Re: Swarm of Finale 25/26 Bugs: At this point, Unusable
Thanks Motet, at least one of my problems is caused by a setting (when did this become default?) I'll definitely be tearing everything apart again, but the issues still occur when I only run Finale, without any additional software. Also, Finale keeps throwing an Error Code: 7 every single time, or i...

Swarm of Finale 25/26 Bugs: At this point, Unusable
Wondering if anyone else has been having issues with Finale 26 on Windows 10. When I upgraded from 25 to 26, I started getting all sorts of strange bugs: 1) Shortcut keys for speedy entry do not work. (Most of the menu shortcuts will also randomly stop working). 2) When copying and pasting, notes wi...

Re: Does Finale's autosave share same extension as Photoshop
Photoshop had done an update, so that may have caused it. I don't suspect it should be an issue, from a recovery perspective, as my system makes duplicates of every file and does some backup consolidation for me. I was just curious that they would share an extension like that. Thanks for the comment.

Does Finale's autosave share same extension as Photoshop?
The past few days I have been getting a message every time that I start Finale stating, "Extension .asv is already registered as 'Photoshop.ASVColAdjFil.e'. Do you want to register this file type with Finale as 'FinaleAutoSave' instead?" Is there a conflict over this extension/file type between the ...

Re: Several movements in one file or several?
I found an old document floating around the web of yours, Motet, documenting how to add the first page information: composer, title, sub title etc, but I did not seem to have much success. For the text expression, is that just made within the dynamics tab of the expression tool (per Finale's documen...

Re: Several movements in one file or several?
While I have always kept movements separate, I am currently working on a project for someone where they want everything in one Finale File. How would you go about efficiently creating all the title information at the beginning of each movement and have it translate to parts?

Re: Mass Staff Edits/Global Changes.
Honestly, I am just trying to remember what it was that I used :\ which does not really help at all. I was speaking with a friend over dinner, and it ended up being like one of those moments where you hear a piece, but cant quite remember what it is. I remember it was a drop down menu of some sort t...

Mass Staff Edits/Global Changes.
Is there a way to do mass staff edits across an entire document? I remember I used something once, I think it was a plugin utility of some sort, that let me select parameters and staves in a dropdown menu, but I cannot remember what it was or where I found it. Does anyone know what I am thinking abo...

Re: Which hotkeys do you use for working speed?
Does Finaleallow you to assign Fkeys to scripts? I have always been forced to use other buttons, and those lovely buttons at the top of my keyboard go unused to this day

Re: Note Position Tool: Does it not always "stick?"
Where is the option within the JW plugin?
---Found it. I salute anyone who makes plugins for software, but man, I feel like I have a harder time finding some things in the UI than when I read Where's Waldo?

Note Position Tool: Does it not always "stick?"
I have been noticing an odd behavior with the note position tool or anything that repositions notes/other things. Even with having incorporate manual position checked in the document options, I have noticed that it does not always maintain my adjustments. Is this normal? After a quick test, it is ha...

Re: Score Order: Reorganizing Multiple Staves at Once
I apologize for not having it in my sig. I will fix that.
I think this last batch of scores to be done in 2012 before I finally switch everything over. I have both currently on my computer, but it was easier keeping it in the older version since it was the file type sent to me.

Re: Score Order: Reorganizing Multiple Staves at Once
It doesn't appear to be a feature in 2012, although it is in 25. I guess that is another reason to switch over-- a task that I will leave for when I am finished with my set of projects.

Score Order: Reorganizing Multiple Staves at Once
Hi guys,
Is there any way to move multiple staves at once when reorganizing a score? I feel like I am going to pull my hair out moving individual staves at a time in the score manager

Re: Orchestrating Purely Digital Elements: Needed in Score?
They do/will get audio in their headphones; however, I have always noticed that the extra synths/sampled percussion ensembles get muted in favor of a standard click. The percussion bits that are being recorded live are notated, but the fun bleep-boop synth sequences and taiko/godzilla ensembles seem...

Re: Orchestrating Purely Digital Elements: Needed in Score?
The elements are pre-recorded. There is no budget to record tailored percussion ensembles (Taiko and other bombastic things). For the tangible stuff, like the sampled percussion, there are rhythms etc. but they do not really impact the bits that are planned to record: Strings, brass, winds, and choir.

Orchestrating Purely Digital Elements: Needed in Score?
Hi guys, I recently got a snippet to orchestrate and it contains, I would say, 80% purely digital elements and 20% instrumental elements to be recorded. Now, from my personal experience, I typically like having all of the instrumental and artificial elements on the score to reference if ever needed;...

Re: Smart Shape Questions: Cross Page Gliss and Masking
For now, I have gotten a bandaid by: 1) Unlinking the gliss. 2) Hiding it in the score while keeping it visible in part. 3) Using a standard line for the parts on the score that are messed up, and hiding them in the part. I'll post a snippet when I can to see if it is something wonky with the File e...

Re: Smart Shape Questions: Cross Page Gliss and Masking
Hopefully the picture has uploaded correctly. I zoomed into the area in question, the line continues down the page and starts making squiggly lines way passed the actual Finale page (into the grey area). If I click the smart shape, it snaps back to the position it should be in; as soon as anything e...

Neither having the note in the top or anywhere has alleviated the issue.
