Thank you Djard. Official word from the Finale folks is this is a "known issue" for Finale 25. My workaround has been to install the TG Tools Pro V3 Plugs and use Modify > Playback. To my ears, the result sounds slightly different but close enough.

Anyone else having issues with Finale 25 and TG Tools Smart Playback Plug-in (Plug-ins>TG Tools>Smart Playback) no longer recognizing tremolos/diddles as an articulation to process (see attachment of error message)? Layer 4 is open so it's not an occupied layer issue. Also, Finale consistently crash...
