Re: Spacing anomaly with tie
I've done a little more exploring with this, and it seems that this isn't an anomaly with this document but rather standard Finale behavior, which is regulated by the "minimum distance between notes with ties" setting. What should occur, I think, is that Finale should apply this minimum distance val...

Re: Spacing anomaly with tie
Motet: I'll try that, thanks. There are several spots where I see this, so it will take some time--but at least it IS a workaround!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Spacing anomaly with tie
If I break the beam in the upper staff, the spacing issue does occur there as well. Interesting.
The font I am using is Golden Age. I've attached an excerpt Finale file with the font reverted to Maestro. The issue is still there.

Spacing anomaly with tie
I'm noticing some strange behavior with music spacing and ties, and am wondering if I'm going a little crazy. Using note spacing, with a tie from the last note in the first measure to the first note in the second measure on second staff only , there's some extra unwanted space at the end of the firs...

Re: Flipped tie bug
I believe I entered music in layer one on a staff, and then entered music into layer two. I then copied both layers onto a new staff. Next I deleted the notes from layer two on the first staff, and then deleted the notes in layer one on the second staff. The ties on the second staff remained flipped...

Re: Flipped tie bug
Zuill: The Split From Layers thing works great! Thank you very much for that. I did find that unchecking the flip tie in "edit frame" on the note receiving the tie does work--which seems backward to me. But I ended up doing this for about 300 notes one at a time. Ugh. From now on, I'm using JW Staff...

Re: Flipped tie bug
Thought I should post a Finale file here, too, because this behavior does not ALWAYS occur in every situation. Forgive some of the funny placement of time signatures, etc., as I quickly changed some fonts back to default but did not reset positioning.

Flipped tie bug
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone has a fix for this tie direction problem. I entered music in two layers on a single staff, and then copied one of the layers to a new staff. The new staff now has ties frozen in the wrong direction (see attached). I know that I can use command-F to flip the ties (w...

Re: Beam over rests not extending in multiple layers
I could probably fix it with the beam extension tool--but that would take HOURS that I might not want to spend. But thanks for the suggestion!

Beam over rests not extending in multiple layers
Hello all, I've noticed that no matter what I do, I cannot get Finale to extend beams over rests in two layers at once (see attached). When I am in speedy entry, I see the beams extending in both layers. When I exit speedy entry, one layer's beam disappears. I also notice that it seems to be connect...

Re: Font baseline in Text items and staff names
Of course, I should have thought of that. It does appear as though double-spaced in other applications. I wonder if there's a way to alter the font to fix that, at least without some kind of font design software. I'll have to look into it. Thank you.

Font baseline in Text items and staff names
Hello all, I just started using the Golden Age music font (GldngFIN), which works great. I also installed the font called "Golden Age Text" which is an otf font. It works fine when I use it in text expressions. However, when I place text using the text tool or use it for staff names, the text appear...

Stemlet / rest alignment
Hi all, I believe I’ve read others speaking to this issue some years back, but I haven’t heard anything on it for quite a while: Is there any way in v. 26 to adjust the horizontal alignment of stemlets (half-stems) with the rests over which they extend? It seems like this is a pretty important visua...

Re: multiple rests
Are you trying to create multi-measure rests in the SCORE or in a part? I don't think it's possible to do so in a score. You'll have to go to the generated parts to use multi-measure rests. As an alternative, you could create fake mm rests using a single empty measure and a custom smart shape.

Re: FINALE 2014 REPEAT SIGN BUG
N Grossingink: You can see the issue in the OP's image. The repeat is missing its bar line. But you're correct, and I ended up doing exactly what you recommended. I spent a few minutes figuring out exactly how much to shift the horizontal positioning and that made the process somewhat automatic. How...

Re: FINALE 2014 REPEAT SIGN BUG
Hi all, Sorry to reply to a (relatively) old thread, but I just came across this issue in one of my own scores, using Finale 25. Wondering if anyone found a good workaround other than using expressions. This is what I got from tech support today: "I've been talking with some other techs about this c...
