Here is what I need.
I have a melody notated on layer 1. I have a harmony line notated on layer 2, of the same rhythm. What I need is to combine layer 1 and 2 into one layer as a chord. Basically, making layer 1 and layer 2 into 1 layer as a chord. Does that make sense?

Combining Layers Question
So, I need to be able to combine Layers 1 and 2 into a single layer as a chord. When I select move/copy layers, one layer always gets deleted. When I move layer 2 into layer 1, I want it to be moved as chords. How do I accomplish that?

Re: How do I edit Tableture Tunings
Tablature settings is what I am editing. I need the lowest string to be lowered to D, and the 2nd lowest string to be lowered to G. I inputted midi numbers to the tablature settings, but now, every time I try to indicate an open D (lowest string), I input the note on a separate guitar staff, and the...

How do I edit Tableture Tunings
For one Ensemble Arrangement I am making, I need the guitar to have the lowest two strings lowered by whole steps. Instead of E-A-D-G-B-E, it's D-G-D-G-B-E. I altered the pitch numbers, but the fret board numbers in tableture turn out weird. How do I edit it to make it make sense?

Splitting Staves from 2 staves to 4 staves
I am currently working on a choral arrangement. The initial format would be SATB Closed Score, however, there will be a section where the choir staves split into 4 staves. Instead of two staves with Soprano & Alto on 1 and then Tenor & Bass on the other, each section will have a specific staff. The ...

Alternating/Double Time Signatures
Hi, I am wondering how to do this in Finale So, for a while, before I used Finale, I had a composition in mind that involved an alternating time signature. Here's how it looked. On the first stave, it showed 3/4 and 6/8 side by side. The odd measures would then be played 3/4 and the even measures wo...

Exporting Score and Parts into 1 PDF file
I was wondering if Finale had a way when I write for string quartet, to export the score, and all of the parts into 1 pdf document instead of 5 separate ones.

I keep needing to reauthorize Finale
I just reauthorized Finale yesterday, however, today, I had to re-reauthorize Finale. For a while now, I would need to reauthorize Finale every few days. I wonder why that's the case. Right now, I am at a place where the internet is rather shady. Could that be the case? If not, is there a possible e...

That doesn't work. It can not draw a line like that. It only draws long lines, which I don't need.gogreen wrote:Tools > Smart Shape > Line.

Drag either end handle to the other to get them to join. This is done in two parts as often a first ending spans systems. Zuill Is there another way to get them to join? I don't want that bracket showing up a little "thicker" than usual on the pdf because of two lines joining there. I did it, but t...

Hard space insert in lyrics
Hi, I just wanted to ask how to insert a hard hyphen
For instance it would look like this:
and- then I came down
Instead of this:
and - then I came down.
I couldn't seem to find any manual tip or tool to do this. All I found was "hard space".

I am aware that's what you do, but that method means you changing the numbers individually. I am asking if there is a way to do it all at once.zuill wrote:Do it by the numbers in the Adjust Baselines dialogue box.

Is there a way to move the bass line of multiple verses at once? Every time I want to shift lyrics downward, I always have to edit the baseline of all verses individually, which can get hard at times. Is there a way to move all verses down at once?

How to edit staff names to produce desired results?
I know that for a group name like http://www.rpmseattle.com/of_note/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/inst-name-split-staves-centered.png You need to make a Group name and edit as is, but such editing does not cross over to the Abbreviated Staff Names. How do I make it cross over? I also want to edit staff...

The horns were done with ‘Horns’ as a Group Name rat...
