Re: different bar lines per part in score
I finally determined a method to achieve this. (For this particular Baroque composition, most of the measures lack barlines, but the original Basso continuo part has occasional solid barlines.) I began with all measures in all performance edition parts being dashed barlines. With the organ grand sta...

Re: Ossias: no slurs or hairpins
For your score measure numbers, do this in your measure region settings. The measure number will then still show up even if your hidden ossia staff is on the top. These settings removed the measure number that mysteriously and unwantedly appeared above the organ staff in each system of the score, b...

Re: Ossias: no slurs or hairpins
Attaching the musx file would be much more helpful than a screenshot.

Re: Ossias: no slurs or hairpins
That removes the clef, key, and time, but the staff still continues all the way left and has the left barline that connects all the staves in the system. Also, in any system where the first pseudo-ossia measure is hidden (via Hide Staff), the measure number (this is the score) -- which *is* shown on...

Re: Ossias: no slurs or hairpins
So, all of this works, except… When the pseudo-ossia measure (via a smaller staff with empty measures hidden) is the first measure in a new system, the clef, time signature, key signature, and left barline appear. Hiding the clef, time signature, and key signature and making the left barline invisib...

Re: copy dynamic or articulation markings to all parts
I have a related issue and cannot find a solution, despite lots of reading and attempts. My score has an organ part (grand staff). I have 3 parts that the source is the bass clef (left hand) staff of the organ part. Two of the 3 parts need to be transposing. I began with properly placing dynamics, '...

Re: French baroque time signatures...
I found a semi-solution, but it only allows for two French time signatures (replacing C [common time] and c [cut time] characters).
What to do when I need a third French signature in a document?

Re: French baroque time signatures...
I figured out making a French time signature as an expression on my own, making its placement definition at the 'Start of Time Signature,' left justified and -12 vertical offset. The problem is, when I hide the functional time signature, the notes in that measure move left, overlapping my expression...

different bar lines per part in score
In Mac Finale 25 (and likely prior versions), when I change the bar line for a measure in one part, it affects the bar line for every other part in the score. Anyone know how I can disable that?

Re: inconsistent hairpin ends
So, having calculated the transition point to a 133-137 EVPU range, is there any method for shutting the transition off? Such as, flat ends on all hairpins above 1 EVPU?

Re: inconsistent hairpin ends
I'm not 'buying' any of that. If Finale can/forces square closed ends of a hairpin of a certain length (and longer), but forces zero-point ends of a hairpin just a single EVPU shorter, then it's a bug. One or the other, developers; one or the other. Not both. Better yet, an option to have all hairpi...

Re: allowing rhythmic values not to add up
The different entry tools allow you to turn off the option to check for extra notes. Also, the measure tool allows you to position notes evenly across the measure, as in a cadenza. Zuill Where are these "different entry tools" in Finale 25.5? I had no problem entering extra beats in a measure in Fi...

Re: inconsistent hairpin ends
I never change the width of the open end. Ergo, the closed end of every hairpin should be exactly the same, regardless of the overall length. They are not. I am either missing a setting, which will force consistent behavior, or this is a bug that has spanned many, many years.

inconsistent hairpin ends
When a crescendo or decrescendo ('hairpin') is short enough, Finale automatically changes the closed end to a zero-point (infinite) height. This is visibly different from longer hairpins. Does anyone know how to force consistency in Finale 2012c or 25.5? For my aesthetics, I would prefer short hairp...
