Transfer Simple Entry Keyboard Shortcuts
Every time I install a new version of Finale, I have to set up my Simple Entry shortcuts again, which is tedious. On a Mac, is there a way to copy over the shortcuts from one version to another, or one computer to another? I just set up the shortcuts again on one computer, but don't want to have to ...

Slow on Mojave?
Hey guys, I've started using Finale for the first time in a few months, and some things, primarily inputting notes in Simply Entry (with the mouse) are incredibly slow. There is a huge lag after the click before the note shows up. The only thing I can think that has changed on my system is that it's...

Re: percussion layers
Alternatively, is there a way to take a part that is notated as a single voice in Orchestral Percussion, and keeping it all in the same layer, create a second voice a fourth or fifth apart?

percussion layers
Hi everybody, is there a way to copy a layer of percussion into another layer, and then move the second layer to a different line on the staff? For any other instrument I would do Move/Copy Layers --> Copy Layer 1 to Layer 2, and then Show Active Layers Only and use Command 7 to move the new layer a...

niente
Can somebody explain how I can create an "n" for niente in the same Maestro 24 font that all the other dynamics are? When I try to "create dynamic" I find that the 'n' key on the keyboard corresponds to a different symbol in Maestro. Thanks so much.

Re: vertical line / microtones
Thanks, yeah I knew Misc. meant Miscellaneous, I'm just not sure where that is.

Re: vertical line / microtones
FYI splitting the measure did not work. I got an error because of the rhythmic content of the measure; I'm trying to create this line in the middle of a triplet figure.

Re: vertical line / microtones
Thank you all for these suggestions. I will try all of these to see what I like. Splitting the measure could work. What is the Misc. Category suggested by Zuill? True about caesura, but there is something visually appealing about a vertical line straight down the score at the exact moment of the cut...

Re: vertical line / microtones
Thanks for your response. I'm thinking of a dashed vertical line through all of the staves of the score, kind of like a bar line, but that can be placed at any point in the middle of a measure, where I have to cut off the orchestra. And this dashed line would also appear in the parts. As for the mic...

vertical line / microtones
Two unrelated questions for the same score. Is there a way to put a vertical line through a score at a cutoff point somewhere in the middle of a measure? Can that vertical line appear in the score and parts? Where can I find microtonal accidentals? Like let's say I want a string player to portamento...
