You are right.
Finale 25 is very problematic.
However, the last version 26.1 works much faster except the slow "save" operation if you work on heavy projects.

Re: High CPU load
This is pretty good configuration, however Finale does care how many CPU cores stay at disposal, since it uses only ONE and this is the main reasons for number of issues inc. slow graphical performance.

Re: Text cursor blinking behavior different on Finale for Ma
Mac, Mojave, 10.14.4, Finale 26.1 EXPRESSION tool - typing/editing in Text window I found that the cursor is not visible when selecting an expression by pressing [Alt+Shift+Enter] for direct editing (for example missing letter, comma etc.). The same issue remains if the whole sequence is done: doubl...

Re: Should I upgrade to 26?
26.1 is a considerable improvement specially for Mac users. The lags and some slow down issues seen before now appear to be fixed. Nudging with arrow keys is almost as fast as in version 2008 (one of the most reliable old versions). Copy-paste 100 bars/32 staves fully loaded with articulation, smart...

Re: 12.5 font for lyrics
Hi, it's not possible, however you could get closer size working with non-fixed fonts. I use one simple method: imagine you need to input the music on 7 mm staff. This corresponds to 83% scaling (either staff or system) making an assumption, that 96 EVPUs is the original staff high 8.4667 mm. If you...

Re: Getting ready to print 11/17
Working with 32 staves per page on A3 or similar page size is real challenge, indeed and this circumstance requires to be very frugal using the vertical space. IMO, 4 mm staff high would solve your problem, well, as a last resort. The "picture" will look slightly minimalistic, however the score will...

Re: PDF and PS problem
There is another trick and IMHO it works much easier: Prepare a PDF file from your score without embedding the EPS object(s). Open the file in Illustrator, iDraw, Inkscape etc. Add new layer and place the graphic object and adjust it properly. LOCK the added layer. Many Sibelius and Dorico users app...

Re: PDF and PS problem
Hi OCTO, it's known issue, but here is the method I use for many years: first I know, that you are MAC user. So: 1. Download printer driver for large PS printer i.e. HP 5000 series or even better HP Large printer in order to print on A2. I use HP Design jet T1100ps 44in, install it and select it as ...
