Good stuff, thanks. Glad to hear it obeys the mixer when outputting audio - hey you never know w/ Finale
Clavé it is for the click track.

Re: Click Tracks
Good suggestion. What about exporting audio w/ separate tracks for the click/clave and the rest of the instruments. Muting in the mixer? I've never exported audio from Finale before, not quite sure the correct process.

Click Tracks
a) What is the best way to generate a click track in an existing Finale score?
b) What is the best way to export just the click track and the instruments as separate audio files?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them both out.
Perotinus, do you do that w/ the lyric tool?

Shortening lyric lines
Hello, I've got some lyrics across tied notes, naturally Finale extends a line from the text (as it should). However, my tie is broken and I have another note that I don't want the line extended under. Instead I have text instructions for that note. However, Finale just automatically extended the li...

Page Number Position
The page numbers in my document are default in the top left corner. Is there a simple way to have it flip to the right top corner w/o dragging each one manually?

Re: Graphics - foreground/background
Hard to know what you're talking about without seeing it. What you see on the screen is not necessarily how it will print, so try that first. You might also be able to give the graphic a transparent background. The graphics do have a transparent background but you're right I haven't tried printing ...

Re: Graphics - foreground/background
Bummer. Rather fundamental one would think. They need to get it together, this is essentially a graphics program after all, albeit extremely specialized. It's 2020 and the eps files still look bloated and blurry.

Graphics - foreground/background
I've been noticing the graphics I'm inserting (eps files) are going overtop of the notes whereas I'd like them underneath (to emerge out of the note). They're black but for some reason in Finale they show up w/ a white pinstripe shadow around the black which is noticeable. This would likely be fixed...

Awesome! So once everything is snapped, can you adjust the grid line and have the text go with i?

Aligning text
Is there a way to have a bunch of text boxes all align horizontally? Say for performance instructions or annotation for analysis. There's probably a JW plugin for this but perhaps its built into Finale somewhere.

Re: (note values) Beyond the Bar Lines
That's a great suggestion, thanks - and I'll definitely use that where possible. Only issue is in this one case, I have a measure below that uses short measures as ticks for a stopwatch. I suppose I could just add those w/ a graphic but since I'm already well into this one I'd prefer to not overhaul...

(note values) Beyond the Bar Lines
I'm working with a score that has a hidden time sig and no bar lines. Of course Finale is treating the note values to be measured as if there are bar lines. This becomes a practical issue when crossing these hidden bar lines at times. As a simple example, I would like a half note (for a simple clean...

Offsetting Measure Numbering/Timing
Ok, so I have multiple movements in separate Finale documents and I have no interest in making it a single file, I can do that as PDFs. However, what I need to do is make the timing line up. This could be either time-based or measure-based, in this case I'm using time as it is a stopwatch piece. The...

Re: Transposing Instruments + Playback
In the score manager under Transposition, check Hide key signature. I'm not sure what playback issues, if any, you're having. Perhaps you should attach a file. Ok, I just figured out what was throwing me before. Finale was playing the transposed instruments at the correct pitch during playback...ho...

Transposing Instruments + Playback
Somehow I've managed to have my transposing instruments playback at concert pitch. Finale automatically inserts a transposed key signature along with the transposed instrument but I wanted the score to have no key signature (in line w/ contemporary scores). Is there a painless way to do this so Fina...

Agreed, I've seen much more elegant renderings by hand.motet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 7:35 pmLooks like it's a feature in Dorico, though the rendering is not attractive, in my opinion:

Actually no it wouldn't, your description adds unnecessary clutter. It does make sense and is more common than you're aware of.

Re: Slurs that flow from below to above
Here's an example from a Ravel piece. I was able to do it (somewhat) in Finale by contorting a single slur but it was clunky and not stable when adjusting things.
