How to change location of backups?

Hi, When I try to save any of my Finale files, I am suddenly getting the error message "Error 3 moving file: "[file location]" to "D:\Document\Finale Files\Backups\[file name]". The system cannot find the path specified. Well I know why the system cannot find the path specified; it's because I don't...

Re: No longer able to change sound of instruments in Finale?

Actually, I just tried again and was able to change the sound this time. I don't know what caused it last time because I tried restarting Finale multiple times, but it appears to be working normally for the time being.

No longer able to change sound of instruments in Finale?

I'm using SmartMusic SoftSynth for all of my sounds; I've been working on a Brass Combo arrangement and had my mellophone part using the "Trombone" sound because it was fairly realistic. I switched it to Trumpet to see if it sounded better, and then I later decided I didn't like it and wanted to swi...

Re: Ritardando Playback Issues

Thanks; I think I'll probably just end up putting a few hidden tempo changes to give the appearance of a gradual change in tempo. When I put a tempo marking before and after the ritardando, it just caused the ritardando to not be played at all and then the very last note (the one with the second mar...

Re: Ritardando Playback Issues

Thanks, that works! Now my only question is if there's a way to change the speed of a ritardando. The ones in my program keep slowing down way too fast.

Ritardando Playback Issues

Hello again, I have put a ritardando in the 9th measure of my current file. When I start my playback from the beginning, it plays just fine, except for slowing down too much, but that is not my primary issue. The issue is that when I start the playback at a certain measure (using Space + Left Click)...

Re: How to change the size of text without it disappearing?

Thanks for the help! I knew it was probably a simple fix, I just didn't know exactly what to do. The new text box is working fine now, it turns out my mouse was just acting finicky and the left click button was sticking, causing me to click and drag without meaning to.

Re: How to change the size of text without it disappearing?

Sure thing, here's the file for anyone asking. I don't know if it's something weird with the formatting I have or what, but I can't get the text that says "Brass Combo" to get any bigger than it is. (Also I'm a true beginner at Finale so if there are other rookie mistakes I made while editing my fil...

How to change the size of text without it disappearing?

Hey, I don't know how active this forum is but I have a really frustrating problem and would appreciate some help if anyone could spare a few minutes. I'm currently writing a brass combo and am trying to put the text "Brass Combo" in the upper left corner of the first page, as one would normally do ...
