Re: Condensing rest bars
Thank you, that worked like a charm. BUT - it did create some blank space on the next page (where the piece ends). Which brings up another question - how do you get rid of blank space at the bottom of the page? I've fooled around with margins/staff heights/etc and usually it's a matter of trial and ...

Condensing rest bars
Is there a way to condense multiple rest bars (like for instance 4 bars where the instrument does not play) and not show those empty bars but instead show one bar with a '4' above it?

Triplet/multiplet between two clefs
Is there a way to have a multiplet span over two clefs (i.e., chord with top notes written on treble clef and lower on bass clef) or to have a multiplet start in one clef and end on another (i.e., triplet with first two notes on treble and last note on bass?)

How to add more than one note to staff
I'm trying to add additional notes to the staff but it won't let me. Example - I have 4/4 bar and have a whole note. I need to add more notes on top of the whole note (polyphony) but it's not letting me do it. Is there a way to use Simple Entry to correct this issue?

Re: Adding a piano part to a score
Great thank you. And is there a way to reduce the size of the staff of the single treble clef (of the solo part, not the piano part)? Some softwares, surprisingly, don't have this ability.

Adding a piano part to a score
I created a violin part (treble clef, single stave) and am now wanting to add a piano part to make it a score. Is there a way to do this?

Re: Trying to fit on 3 pages
Yeah how do you move the staves closer together? … I've gone to great lengths reducing sizes of the measures … I've literally reduced the sizes of the measures to the point where they are now borderline illegible as it is … If I understand you correctly - the sizes of the measures - you have used th...

Trying to fit on 3 pages
I'm using v. 26.1 I'm trying to fit a score on 3 pages - it can't be more than 3 (I'm producing copies of it and all four pages including title page have to fit on an 11x17 sheet. Is there any way to reduce the size of everything so it fits? I've gone to great lengths reducing sizes of the measures ...

Re: Piano cues
Where do you find these plug-ins? Whenever I look under Plug-ins on the menu bar, all that comes up is a bunch of blank menus.

Piano cues
Is there a way to put in piano cue notes into an instrumental part? I just need to make the piano notes smaller than regular-sized notes.

Cadenza Writing
I have forever had trouble writing cadenzas on Finale. For the life of me, I can not get the time signature to turn off. I'm about ready to pay someone to do this cadenza for me. I'm using version 26. If anyone can give me a step-by-step how-to about this, that would be great!!

Re: Extra beats
Conceal barlines does work (so thanks for that tip!) The problem is with the time signatures and Finale auto-populating the extra beats with rests. You can't just write a cadenza in one bar on Finale. You have to put in a time signature of something like 75/4 for the equivalent of 75 quarter notes. ...

Re: Extra beats
You lost me entirely after your second sentence. I don't know what "systems" are. At least, not in Finale.

Extra beats
No, not extra heartbeats (aka PVCs!) For some reason, I am having trouble with Finale adding extra beats and placing them outside the measure! I tried adjusting the time signature to get rid of them, but it's not working. Ordinarily this is not a problem for me but I'm writing a cadenza and for each...

Re: Sixteenth note runs
Believe whatever you want to. I asked the question the same way and all they gave me was an answer that was incorrect. I'm glad I goto the correct one. Amazing that nobody from tech support could answer this question for me. I find that statement VERY hard to believe, especially when one considers t...

Sixteenth note runs
I'm trying to do 12 continuous sixteenth notes without them being broken up into three groups of four notes. They need to all be connected. I am trying to write a cadenza and having absolutely no luck with this at all. Finale Customer Support doesn't even know how to do it. Apparently the only way t...
